Fruit Tree Project
Since 2019, The Exodus Travels Foundation has been teaming up with the SankalpTaru Foundation (Trees for Livelihood), an Indian-based NGO that supports sustainable farming, to plant 5000 apple and apricot trees in one of India’s most remote mountainous regions of Ladakh. Planting in this notoriously difficult terrain will not only provide local communities with an extra source of income once the trees begin to fruit, but the project also acts as a new carbon sink in the area which aligns with our Nature First plan to give back to our planet’s ecosystems more than we take. These saplings will eventually ensure a sustainable and guaranteed source of sustenance for the surrounding community. As this inspiring project flourishes in the months to come, we will keep you updated.
