CLASSIC VIETNAM & ANGKOR
A very good highlights tour of an interesting part of the world with history (both ancient and modern) and an intersting culture – fascinating to see the contrasts between north, central and south Vietnam in a short time. For me Angkor Wat deserves more time so either extend your trip or choose another and be warned this trip has a lot of early morning starts.
Most Inspirational Moment
This is a trip of highlights and to choose just one would be wrong in my opinion - I was most looking forward to Ha Long Bay and Angkor Wat and was not dissappointed (except for the weather in Ha Long!). The most interesting thing about this trip for me was to just watch the locals go about their daily lives, both in the cities and in the country - and especially on their scooters!
Thoughts on Group Leader
Both group leaders - Thanh in Vietnam & Chaana in Cambodia - were excellent. Always freindly, knowledgeable, informative and helpful - they were also both eager to learn about our lives at home which was fascinating to contrast.
Advice for Potential Travellers
This is a very full trip but with a few afternoons for spare time, but be warned there are many early morning starts which does mean little socialising in the evenings and many early nights!Take an overnight bag with you for Ha Long Bay & Mekong Delta when your main luggage is not taken with you - and note that on the transfer days you often get off the flight and go straight out sightseeing before checking into the next hotel & getting access to your main luggage (and remember large sun cream & mossie sprays have to be packed as they cannot go with you in the plane).

SNOWSHOEING IN THE DOLOMITES
A fantastic winter break – beautiful scenery, lovely hotel, a great group of people and an excellent guide. And we had sunshine (most of the time) every day!
Most Inspirational Moment
Taking in the views for the top of Mudlerhof. It had been a long pull up to the top but it was definitely worth it. Fantastic views in all directions, if only we'd had the time to explore further. A great way to spend New Years Day.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Karl was excellent. He has a fantastic knowledge of the mountains and a keen interest in their history and the people. He built a strong rapport within the group and encouraged us all to make the the most of the holiday both on the mountains and in the hotel. He went the extra mile.
Advice for Potential Travellers
As with all walking activities, you will benefit from a decent level of fitness but all of the trips were within the capabilities of an averagely fit individual. There is no particular technical challenge at this level of snowshoeing - if you can walk you can snowshoe.Take plenty of layers - it was sunny but it was also cold. You won't lose weight - all the exercise is balanced by the excellent food at the Hotel Adler.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: VENABU
Venabu is a great addition to the Exodus brochure. Good range of skiing, great leaders, effective instruction, very good hotel. This would also be a good base for some overnught(s) in the huts that are within reach. A must do trip!
Most Inspirational Moment
Just being out there travelling through the chilly lands
Thoughts on Group Leader
Robert and Venke were both excellent in their own ways. Thanks to both for a great week.

KILIMANJARO CLIMB - RONGAI ROUTE
The biggest challenge I’ve ever undertaken and certainly worth the effort!Tough, don’t underestimate it, but the support of the team behind you is fantastic.
Most Inspirational Moment
The highlight obviously has to be making it to the summit of Kilimanjaro, also the fact that all 7 in the group made it meant that we could all celebrate together. This achievement will be a lasting memory!
Thoughts on Group Leader
Priscus the head guide was excellent. He helped anyone struggling with altitude sickness and he and the other guides were very knowledgable about the mountain flora, fauna and all aspects of trekking.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Go prepared for rain, hail, sleet and snow!! Waterproofs are your best friend, plus thermals and lots of layers.

DOLOMITES, LAKE GARDA & VENICE RIDE
An excellent trip through varied scenery, made all the better by a knowlegeable and friendly guide
Most Inspirational Moment
The first view of Lake Garda was truly stunning (and the descent to the shore). The quality of cycle routes was superior to anything we have in the North East.Venice was better than I expected, as were all our cultural experiences (the covered walkway from the hotel in Vicenza was stunning) The misty morning ride along the waterway as we left the bustle of Verona
Thoughts on Group Leader
Michela was one of the best tour leaders we've ever had. a constant smile, excellent English and more than enough knowlege for a bunch of cyclists. He never wore the same cycle jersey twice - very colourful!
Advice for Potential Travellers
Go and enjoy it! Bring lots of money for Venice and visit very early on the last day to avoid the crowds.

ATLAS PANORAMA
This was my first ever organised walking trip and I was quite nervous at the thought of spending a whole week in the company of people I had never met, but it turned out to be rather fun – despite the extremely cold gite. While I understand that it is difficult to gauge the mixed abilities of such large groups, I feel that, with the exception of the last day, the walks are a little too short and we spent quite an amount of time hanging around the freezing cold gite.
Most Inspirational Moment
The first time our guide lit the small gas heater in our freezing cold gite is firmly embedded in my memory. Until then, I thought I was going to die from the cold! The 32 km walk to and from the lake on the last day was pretty special too. On the first day, I opted out of the lunch venue that our city guide took us to, as I thought the food looked rather bland - as did the restaurant. I found THE MOST AMAZING place to eat in the following place www.lesjardinsdelakoutoubia.com Incredible roof terrace, amazing views, fabulous food and brilliant service, for not much more than the price of the place I had opted out of. I highly recommend it. I spent New Year's eve there too and it was truly amazing.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Our group leader was very competent and very patient indeed. He had his work cut out pacing the walks to suit a very mixed ability group.
Advice for Potential Travellers
If you are travelling in Dec/Jan ditch the T-shirts and take thermals and fleeces. Consider packing a hot-water bottle. Gloves and a wooly hat are a must. Also consider bringing some savoury snacks for munching on. You might also wish to pack a flask as the gite staff will fill it with boiling water if you wish to have a hot drink on the walks.

SPICE TRAILS OF KERALA
A great trip, full of impressions – wonderful guide – a truely alternative Christmas.
Most Inspirational Moment
- The mountain walking- The temple in Mudurai- The fantastic food made under simple conditions during our camping
Thoughts on Group Leader
Ajith is a very good guide, full of kowledge about the nature and his country, a good organiser, and a very nice person.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Give your packing list a real consideration. Although wet and a little chilly in the mountains, most of the time it is really warm. Be flexible and multi-purposed in your packing. A warm waterbottle in your sleeping bag works miracles for chilly nights. Be aware that the camping life is very basic, with little chance of a wash for 5 days. The tents are small, so keep your bags as small as possible.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: DOBBIACO
It was a fantastic holiday in a beautiful location. The tour leaders were supportive and encouraging, very knowledgable about the sport and the location.
Most Inspirational Moment
When I finally stopped freaking out because I couldn't control my speed!
Thoughts on Group Leader
We had two group leaders Eric and Andy, who were both fantastic. Excellent instruction for both beginner and experienced skiers...also very patient.
Advice for Potential Travellers
If you're expecting Italian food in Dobiacco you won't find it unless you go out to specific restaurants.
