An amazing week walking around Mont Blanc, spectacular views, great company, knowledgeable guide and Michelin star quality meals!

Most Inspirational Moment

Shaun was great, knew his stuff, brought the group together and allowed us all to enjoy the walk in our own way.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Walking poles are handy for the decents.

just really spot on ,thanks Chris.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be prepared for early starts and quick turn round but it’s a fabulous trip!!!! .

Wonderful holiday

Perfect combination of good cycling, great company, excellent accommodation and fine food and drink.

The negatives? Be prepared for even more potholes than in the uk and many of the roads are lined with garbage/rubbish which spoils the natural beauty

Most Inspirational Moment

Cycling from Otranto to Lecce

Thoughts on Group Leader

Antonio was brilliant with endless patience, great sense of humour and fluent English

Advice for Potential Travellers

Take your own saddle and stick with standard hire bike.

excellent trip!

This was my 2nd trip with Exodus. My friend and I did this trip the first week of Sept 2018 and what a wonderful week we had. The weather was hot and sunny, countryside beautiful, the prosecco good and the food excellent. Serena was our guide and we couldn’t have asked for anyone better. She is wise, caring and efficient beyond her years. We had an excellent group of companions and by the end of the week were sorry to say good-bye to our new friends. Thanks for an outstanding trip!

excellent

Diverse trip that exceeded (already high) expectations!

A wonderful trip full of beautiful varied scenery, challenging cycles, wildlife, and history! While we did spend substantial amounts of time cycling, it also felt like there was a good amount of time for non-cycling activities: visiting several historical / archeological sites of interest, hiking, swimming on multiple days, and enjoying a beer in the evening. The cycle days also weren’t rushed, with good breaks for coffee and lunch on most days.

Our lead guide, Peter, was fantastic: so experienced in leading cycle trips and a conservationist on top of it, which was particularly insightful for our time in Kruger.

The accommodation was all very comfortable and the many meals prepared by the guides were great: including several barbecues and often hot breakfasts or lunches at picnic spots!

Most Inspirational Moment

Cycling in the Golden Gate Park (day 1 of cycling) with herds of zebra crossing the road in front of us; the peaceful setting of the Sungubala Eco Camp; everything about Kruger Park; setting off just after sunrise for our toughest day of cycling.

Excellent trip

It was a fantastic trip with some relay amazing walks and views.

Most Inspirational Moment

The mountains the open space and the views are breath taking.

Thoughts on Group Leader

The views the open space

Advice for Potential Travellers

I would recommend this trip

A weeks walking in Corsica

A pleasant weeks walking on a mixture of forest and more open trails. Hotel is pleasant. The evening meals were better than the very bread heavy breakfasts and pack lunches.

Most Inspirational Moment

The walk up to the Bocca Palmente coll and the Anglais Falls on day 6.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Knows his stuff. Set the right balance between knowing were everyone was and letting people go at their own pace.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Hotel does not have any air conditioning or insect screens, so bring a plug-in mosquito coil. Be prepared for some fairly steep and loose rocky trails on some days as per the trip notes. I was very glad I had my walking poles with me for the descents.

Greek Islands Unplugged

A chance to see the parts of Naxos, Santorini and Paros that maybe most don’t see.

The trip ran smoothly, expertly organised by Cecile, and the weather was beautiful, late 20’s. I travelled on my own and joined a lovely and friendly group of 15 (3 couples, and the rest of us single, aged between 40 and 70). We chose to have most meals together. All hotels had a swimming pool, all 3 star and air conditioned.

My favourite hotel was on Naxos and it definitely had the best breakfast. A lovely traditional island with lots going on, a good beach, excellent restaurants and beautiful countryside. I would definitely go back to Naxos.

Santorini was beautiful with fantastic views, but very steep, noisy, expensive and busy, especially when a cruise ship arrived! My knees struggled a bit on the uphill parts of this, the longest, walk. I cheated and left early for a bus back to the hotel. Definitely glad I went by cable car both ways to the boat trip too! Most walked down and got the cable car back up, which wasn’t scary by the way, and avoided using the few little donkeys still having to walk up and down the hundreds of steps.

Paros was delightful and relaxing, a sleepy traditional island with beautiful beaches and countryside, lovely shops and restaurants. If you want to shop wait until you get to Paros, especially for clothes, in the lovely and cool sheltered streets.

I arrived home from this holiday pleasantly tired and very happy, definitely one of my favourite trips.

Most Inspirational Moment

Walking through the countryside in Naxos and Paros.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Cecile was lovely, friendly and attentive, she listened to what everyone wanted and fitted in with us and what we wanted, always available and giving advice when needed. Her knowledge and love of the Greek Islands and the Greek people clearly showed.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Take a small, light and comfortable rucksack, good walking boots/shoes and stick/s as you will need them, some of the hills are steep and can be slippy. Get out walking before you go as slightly harder than I had expected of a Level 1 Leasurely, although, to be fair, I have never been on a walking holiday before (hats off to anyone going on a Level 10!).

Tour de Mont Blanc hotel- ( tour du gormet)

Best trip in a decade. Combination of stunning vistas, hiking, culture and food. Jenny our guide was superb. Better named the “Tour du gormet”. “5km to best gelato, 7 km to Prosecco, 8 km to tarte framboise”. Or that can be translated to first breakfast, second breakfast, first lunch, second lunch. Lots of hiking – don’t underestimate the impact of5 days of 2000 to 4000ft and 10 plus miles at the beginning of the trip. However there is then the best hot chocolate in Italy- more a chocolate fondue to look forward to. Bon appetit!
