One of the best

Deservedly one of the top selling trips to a country that prides itself in welcoming visitors.
The design of the trip includes much of the green and exciting scenery which highlights the Buddhist nature of the people. The simple act of picking up a caterpillar from the path to avoid killing it, simple but touching.
Excellent hotels chosen for their location were another great feature.

Most Inspirational Moment

The people. The demure attentive school parties studying their history. The simple delight of the toddlers waving at "funny people" wobbling past on bikes. The sheer scale of the monuments and the civil works built centuries ago. The cleanliness of a poor but proud community. The tolerance of the traffic simply weaving its way all over the roads even if they start from the left! Hardly a horn to be heard

Neelaka twice joint runner up in Exodus's leader poles was the finest guide we have experienced, absolutely on top of his job, and obviously enjoying it! Nothing left to chance based on years of experience and practice and a genuine love of people, fine ambassador for his country. Very touched to be introduced to his wife on the last night, a first for her and us, thank you!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Go and embrace this wonderful place, and do the optional extras too!

Want to bike through Vietnam - choose Exodus

Our experience booking a trip with Exodus was great. From the time of booking the trip to our return flight, after our trip, was working out perfectly. Thanks to a wonderful, amazing tour guide, mechanic, truck- and bus driver we had a well organized trip. Not once did we have to wait for a connection. The hotels were wonderful, the bikes we had, were in perfect shape and the mechanic, on a lay-over day, changed all our chains. Lunches we ate were supporting smaller restaurants in many rural settings.
We highly recommend this trip.

Most Inspirational Moment

While riding along the street, many kids would come out of their houses and call out "hello"! Kids riding their bikes home from school would great us with a friendly "hello".

Thoughts on Group Leader

Chi, our group leader, was amazing, helpful, genuine, caring, organized, engaging, knowledgeable, punctual and many more wonderful characteristics. He was not only a great group leader, but you could see that the support team (mechanic, bus driver and truck driver) respected him.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Do the ride from Saigon to Hanoi. Not the other way around

Great trip

This was a great walking holiday on La Palma. The itinerary was comprehensive and well thought through and encompassed the main highlights of the island. We learnt a lot during our week there and enjoyed some unforgettable walks.

Most Inspirational Moment

Arriving at the highest point of the island at the Roque de los Muchachos with it's spectacular views, followed by an amazing walk along the crater rim.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Henry was great tour leader. He was very capable, taught us a lot about the island and kept us entertained throughout. I can't praise him highly enough!

Advice for Potential Travellers

This is a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and if you are curious about La Palma and enjoy walking on volcanoes, then you should definitely go for it.

Wonderful India

A very enjoyable holiday seeing the splenders of Rajasthan. So many wonderful sights and places but for me the highlights must be seeing 7 tigers on the game drives and the Holi festival in Jaipur. I did however find the long bus journies tiring.

Most Inspirational Moment

Playing Holi in Jaipur

Thoughts on Group Leader

Gajrat was very kind and supportive. Each day we were on the bus he gave us interesting little talks about Indian culture and history.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Drink lots of bottled drinks and be prepared for long journeys between destinations.

As a single traveller I was a bit apprehensive about joining a group for a week’s walking. I needn’t have worried. My fellow travellers were charming, good company and great walking companions. The accommodation was comfortable and clean. The double rooms with balconies had views – but not mine sadly. The food at the cortijo was plentiful and tasty, the breakfast coffee could be improved though. The walks were the highlight: disturbing dozens of griffin vultures feeding on carrion and watching them take flight; being in the natural landscape beyond the ubiquitous olive groves and not least Miguel, our guide who was just superb the whole time.

Most Inspirational Moment

Having a quiet lunch stop perched on a limestone outcrop.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Miguel was very well informed and knowledgeable. He had a good sense of humour and very likeable.

Advice for Potential Travellers

March is a good time to go as its not too hot

Great holiday

Had a great trip as a lone traveller
I was a bit apprehensive on the food as dairy intolerant but the chef’s were really good and the choice for me was really good. The only downside was that some people got jealous of the special desserts they made for me each day (as well as soya ice-cream)

We had a great group and had lovely sunny weather although a bit hot on a few days
Conditions were great the first 2 days then a bit warm
Skiing was harder than a remembered but enjoyable
Hardest bit of the trip was knowing what and how much to wear
I packed lots of thin long sleeved items and a few bike tops which proved very useful. I found liner gloves were really helpful too

Most Inspirational Moment

Just being out and about each day in the beautiful countryside

Thoughts on Group Leader

Mary and albert were great. Not sure they were too impressed by the groups skiing skills, but they changed and chose a good variety Evening films and entertainment were an added extra, and gave me some knowledge of the region

Advice for Potential Travellers

Liner gloves really useful as well as a selection of hats Mary had a cap on which would have been helpful to take with me. Buff was also really handy,so have a few of these Accomodstion had a drying room which worked well

Fantastic trip - a fabulous week of lovely views and delicious food

This was my first Exodus trip, but it exceeded all expectations. The trip was brilliantly run by local guide, Jose, whose humour combined with local knowledge meant he was much more than just a mountain guide. The daily walks we did were well pitched to our level of fitness (fairly high as a group), but there was no pressure exerted. The walks were brilliant and allowed us to get to know the area quite well over the week. The views were stunning throughout the week and it has made me want to return to the region!

The food and accommodation were also great – accommodation was clean and functional, but the food was outstanding. Every evening we had a local dish and it was plentiful and delicious. The hosts were really friendly and accommodating.

Most Inspirational Moment

The trip has really inspired me to come back to the region on a climbing trip.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Fantastic - can't speak highly enough of him.

Wonderful experience!

We enjoyed an interesting week of hiking and learning with a fantastic guide, Gizer, and a very friendly group. The distances and terrain were different each day and all very interesting and well thought out. Late March is a terrific time to go as not too hot and an abundance of wildflowers in bloom. Our guide was a true professional and we feel went above and beyond to make our trip interesting and enjoyable. The extent of his knowledge in all things, flora, fauna, history, and food was so helpful. The staff at the center based hotel was excellent, as was the food! The history and beauty of North Cyprus is not to be missed. We’re so glad we went!

Most Inspirational Moment

Can’t pick just one moment. It seemed every day we saw something more beautiful and learned something more interesting than the day before. I guess THE most inspiration came from learning the history of this country, particularly in recent years, and to see both North and South living in apparent harmony.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Excellent! Could not have asked for a better guide! Also would like to give props to our driver. We always felt safe with him at the wheel.

Advice for Potential Travellers

GO!! You will not regret it!

An impressive holiday on all counts

What an experience. A week of varied routes; a forest trail amongst snow laden trees – like a Narnia snowscene, mountain ascents with beautiful scenery along the way, impressive mountain ranges, breathtaking lakes, stunning mountain huts . . .

A fabulous family run hotel with warm and friendly staff, elegant rooms, comfortable beds and a deep bath with copious amounts of hot water. Immense breakfast choice, fabulous food and wine, cosy bar and snug and a relaxing wellness centre.

Most Inspirational Moment

Being sat on the top of snow covered Monte Piana on a beautiful blue sky day, surrounded by impressive mountains and feeling on top of the world.

Thoughts on Group Leader

I can’t speak highly enough of our group leader Sara Bull. She was fun, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and supportive to all clients. Nothing was too much trouble. Sara was very organised, hard working and safety conscious. Her love of nature and the environment was clearly evident and her enthusiasm was infectious. Sara helped make our experience of the Dolomites very special.

Advice for Potential Travellers

I think everything is covered in the trip notes really. I would just emphasise the need for sunscreen and recommend a water hydration system in your rucksack rather than phaffing about with bottles.

Cycling through Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam

This was our third cycling trip with Exodus. It was an amazing journey and adventure and we loved every single moment of it. It was a fantastic way to see some ‘highlights’ of three beautiful countries.

Most Inspirational Moment

Without a doubt Cambodia - its such a beautiful country; cycling through villages in Cambodia and Vietnam; the wonderful night in the homestay; the food and the border crossings!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Nut - what we can we say, he is an absolute star and gave us such a wonderful holiday from start to finish. We have been really lucky to have had fantastic group leaders in our previous trips but Nut just stands out there. He has a wonderful sense of humour, makes you feel incredibly safe and well looked after, has such patience when he has to tell you for the third time as you are so tired when and where we are meeting for dinner or the morning, his knowledge is incredible. He’s amazing!!!

Advice for Potential Travellers

The heat - this has been said in previous reviews about the heat and this cannot be under estimated. We went early March and the cycling in Thailand was tough due to the heat. Nut was brilliant and shortened the distances between refreshment stops due to this but it is hard going. Don’t however let this put you off, the cycling is relatively flat apart from a few rolling hills, take padded shorts, there are plenty of opportunities for washing so pack light. Insect repellent is also a must. Be also prepared for long days - it’s a tiring trip but definitely worth it.
