Fantastic!!

An absolutely fantastic trip with challenges, sites and wonderful hospitality

Most Inspirational Moment

The guides and the porters who made the trip possible

Thoughts on Group Leader

Wonderful! He was knowledgeable, calm and led the group perfectly

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be fit! The walking is tough and even harder when you take altitude into the mix

Beautiful Jordan

This was a fabulous trip, very full on with lots to squeeze in but well worth it.

Most Inspirational Moment

Star gazing in the Wadi Rum.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Very knowledgeable. He had a difficult week due to a misunderstanding with a guest and a poor hotel in Petra. When asked questions on the bus he needs to repeat it as those at the back can’t hear the question. Did not handle complaints very well.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Do this trip as so much is seen. It’s not a relaxing holiday but worth the long days. Pack a small bag for Wadi Rum. Do take a proper water bottle. Spend longer at Petra on second day.

Discover South Korea

Great trip, good pace, good variety of places visited

Thoughts on Group Leader

Michelle was a very good group leader. Very engaging. Gave us plenty of information and lots of interesting stories about Korean life, culture, and history.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Don't miss the fact that you need a K-ETA. All the focus was on covid requirements and this is easily overlooked

A Good Ride

A very good trip with excellent guides. Weather was not as good as expected but very enjoyable. Hotels were good and food recommendations by our guide were also excellent and memorable. All except for the last hotel and the dinner. Not up to the Exodus standard.

Most Inspirational Moment

Seeing the waves on the coast.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Reuben performed his duties in an exemplary manner under difficult weather conditions. He was always positive and looked for solutions to any problem. Commendable.

Advice for Potential Travellers

If cycling in Portugal in October, take your rain gear.

Inca trail with Amazon Jungle trip extension....

This is definitely a bucket list trip which has you constantly on the go from start to finish. You will not be disappointed but be prepared to feel exhausted at the end of your travels. I have been away with Exodus many times in the past and have always had positive experiences with them. There were a couple of minor hiccups on this trip, hence I have marked down one star. However, with such a complicated trip to book, it was inevitable this may happen.

Most Inspirational Moment

The guides are so passionate about their culture and history and are keen to expand in their knowledge about the Incas. They answer every question, are kind and patient, and take time to find nice locations to eat when not on the trail. The porters were magnificent, although they couldn't speak much English, were always happy to greet you in the mornings with a hot cup of tea and give you a cheer at the end of each day on the trail. The jungle guides were equaly passionate about their jobs and went to all lengths to ensure we saw as much wildlife as possible as well as talking bout the different plants and insects f the jungle. The optional excursion to the Sacred Valley is really worth it, it lasts the whole day and you will visit various sites with your own personal guide.

Thoughts on Group Leader

The Inca Trail leader Julio was fantastic and so professional from start to finish. Very knowledgable and was always there throughout the whole trip. I had various guides in the jungle and all of them were equaly as good as each other as well as the guide for the Sacred Valley.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be prepared to be taking a lot of flights, especially if you have the jungle extension as well, there is also a 3-hour boat ride into the jungle. The transfer times are tight so be aware of this at check in. You will probably get affected by the altitude on arrival into Cuzco and possibly throughout the trip, but you will gradually get used to it. It was colder in Cuzco and the mountains than expected so be prepared for this (bring hat, gloves and warm sleeping bag. It was also very wet so waterproofs are essential but there is opportunities to purchase a cheap poncho. The jungle is very hot, but bring long sleaved tops and long trousers as you will get eaten alive by mosquitos.

A great introduction to Rajasthan, from city to rural and on the edge of desert. A lot of travelling necessary to experience everything, we were well looked after by our guide Chandresh and our driver who managed amazingly through Delhi jams and tricky rural roads. A good range of hotels, some standard could be categorised as comfortable, the on in Delhi was the only let down. Showers were variable and not always hot water but it goes with the territory. We were a small group, just 4, we all got on well and had a good holiday.

Most Inspirational Moment

The Taj without doubt, it cannot fail to impress, beautiful and well worth getting up very early for.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Chandresh was a good leader, kept us informed and safe especially when crossing roads in cities. He was very easy going and ready to help with whatever we needed, he took us on extra trips when we wanted to explore more. Chandresh introduced us to some lovely restaurants, arranged a cookery class when asked and looked after me very well when I was unwell. He as concerned for all of our well-being throughout.

Advice for Potential Travellers

It’s a wonderful trip, be prepared to adapt to Indian ways and customers, tipping can be a bit complicated. Be ready for some long travelling days and lots of curry, there are always regular breaks as well and you eat in some great places.

Really amazing

Great trip, well worth the money. A good mix of walking, snorkeling and animal watching.

Most Inspirational Moment

Really enjoyed snorkeling Kicker rock and the volcano days.

Thoughts on Group Leader

She was very informative, very knowledgeable and made sure we were ready for the day ahead. Always took into account the mix of personalities within the group.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Best to take a long wet suit if you are planning to take your own.

Cycle Namibia

Wonderful experience of the different landscapes in Namibia

Most Inspirational Moment

The beautiful loneliness of the countryside where you are cycling Dunes and fat bike in them Animals in freedom in Etosha National Park

Thoughts on Group Leader

Very good job in all aspects, personal and professional, solving all circumstances of the trip

Whistle stop tour of two very different countries

This tour is far too rushed Billed as an 11 trip it is actually only 9 days, the group flight only arriving in Jordan after midnight Hotel at 3.30 on day 2. Some of our group left Tel Aviv hotel at 03.00 on day 11. We saw some amazing sights but always felt rushed. Internal travel was in mini bus not very good for sight seeing or taking in the sometimes stunning countryside as the view is very restricted. On days travelling between hotels the luggage was crammed in on the rear seats and in the gangway, and some was shipped separately in another vehicle. Fingers crossed it got there. we did go to some amazing places. Petra was magnificent but really needed two whole days. Jerusalem was so interesting but sometimes a bit scary, tension is bubbling near the surface here. Tel Aviv was disappointing for most people in our group as it was the sabbath on the day we arrived and many of the promised sights were closed. We were staying on for a few days so we had the opportunity to see everything and contrast it with Jerusalem.

Most Inspirational Moment

Getting to the high point above the monastery in Petra was an achievement. thank goodness we were able to get a scary horse and cart ride back or we'd probably have got locked in. The trip to Bethlehem was a lights on moment for me. I got a feel for the Palestinian frustration and anger.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our Jordanian leader was knowledgeable and did look after us as we expected. He was rather longwinded perhaps from enthusiasm but rather tiring in the hot sun. Too fond of cafe stops, squeezing the time at the sites of interest. The Israeli leader. was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the country and tried to tell us everything Would have been magnificent if I was studying the history of the region at degree level, but too much standing in the hot sun for so long that we had little time to actually see the places of interest. He was however not really a tour leader in the Exodus style. He wasn't there to meet us when we crossed the border turning up 15 minutes later. Didn't take us into check in at the hotel or was at all concerned about the early closing of restaurants and shops, threatened strike and later gun fire and rioting following the death of a young Palestinian on our free day in Jerusalem. Advice on where to eat ect, missing.

Advice for Potential Travellers

In its present form this trip is quite punishing with little down time. The walking can be hard particularly if you are keen to see as much as possible in Petra.

Reply from Exodus

We are grateful to you for taking the time to leave a review and are glad that you enjoyed Petra and Bethlehem. However, we were very sorry to read that you felt the itinerary was rushed, and that you were disappointed with aspects of your tour’s leadership and the suitability of your vehicle. We put a great deal of work and thought into designing our itineraries, however I should mention that this is a new trip to Exodus, and we hope clients will appreciate that with tours such as this there may be some aspects that we look to amend in order to improve the overall experience, based on the feedback we receive. Please be assured that I will certainly bear yours in mind when I look at what aspects of the itinerary could be changed when I review the tour ahead of the next season and will consider potentially increasing the amount of time in Petra, as you have suggested. Regarding your tour leaders, though we were pleased to read your positive comments about the knowledge they shared with you about their respective countries, we were equally disappointed to learn that you felt you spent too much time standing in the sun, as I can appreciate this would have been uncomfortable. Whilst the weather is of course an uncontrollable factor, going forward we have suggested that longer talks are given under shade or on board an air-conditioned vehicle to prevent groups being in direct sunlight for extended periods. We are sorry that you found the vehicle provided in Israel to be too small to comfortably seat all group members and their luggage, as we would always want our customers to have smooth travels in destination. Having seen photos of the vehicle used and taking into account the number of clients in your group, we agree with your assessment, and we have therefore followed up with our local operator to make sure larger vehicles are provided on future trips. We hugely appreciate your feedback, as it has allowed us to look to make changes to this tour and ensure that it is as organised, informative, and enjoyable as our customers expect from Exodus trips, though we remain apologetic that this was not your experience.
