Thoughts on Group Leader
Terrible. He was not really present. He was distracted and unhelpful and often rude.

A trip through some amazing and varied landscapes staying in lovely local guest houses and nice hotels. Somewhat ruined by poor guiding.
Cycling through incredible, breathtaking landscapes on quiet roads.
Terrible. He was not really present. He was distracted and unhelpful and often rude.
Constant dire room issues ruined it. Wrong emphasis on trip content, notes inaccurate, bad hotel and restaurant choices. Leader elusive, finally his response: “you’re on the wrong holiday”. Lived in 8, school 4, business 7 + holidays = 44 countries visited but Albania broke me.
Berat's mosque. Imam polite, informative, ceiling of the annexe was out of this world, exquisite.
Offhand, I blew a fuse having to constantly fight my own room battles, he told me to "calm down". It Just got worse. I wasn't last to book but was treated as an inconvenience, after-thought. At one point genuinely thought I would be sleeping on the bus or at a different hotel as debate raged for 1/2 hour, last to get key every time.
Choose a different country, strongly suggest review choice of tour operator.
We would like to thank you for your review, Linda, although we are genuinely apologetic that your Exodus holiday in Albania was so disappointing. We usually find that our leaders and customers get along well and that any issues raised during the trip are quickly and effectively dealt with so we were surprised to receive your feedback on this subject. We acknowledge that there were areas where your leader could have been better, including communication, and we arranged further training for him to ensure this does not impact future customers. Otherwise, we are confident that this tour met our overall expectations, evidenced by the generally positive reviews we received from your group.
The whole experience was great.Excellent fellow travellers and travelling by train to the start point on most days was really enjoyable. The hotel is basic but the food was good.Stopping at a bar at the end of most days was also great. Our guide ,Roberta ,was fun and very knowledgeable
Walking part of the GR20
Roberta was amazing and great sense of humour and very caring for all members of the group
The hotel is basic but functional.Take a travel kettle if you want a cup of coffee when you first wake up.Also the hotel does not have hair dryers .Also take some snacks for walking as the local village has limited supplies
An amazing trip exploring so much of Sicilian history and typical foods the Island. Our tour leader Tiziano went above and beyond his role to show us as possibile throughout the trip. We saw so much in 1 week.
So much included to choose 1 moment.
Tiziano was amazing. He was friendly, helpful, approachable and super conscientious. He did as much as could and more to ensure our trip was a superb adventure.
Be prepared for some long hot days on an amazing island with so much to offer.
This Bolivia tour includes a fantastic variety of landscapes and experiences but for all of us on the tour the highlight was the desert scenery in particular the salt flats. Go before too many other tourists discover it! There is a lot of travelling and some long days but it is worth it. Julia our guide was quite simply one of the best tour guides I’ve had in around 40 group tours. Bolivia is a poor country but the people are friendly and we had no problems with strikes or roadblocks. Don’t be put off by the trip note warnings about altitude sickness, perhaps we were lucky but in our group no-one had anything worse than a short-lasting slight headache.
The desert scenery in general and the salt flats in particular, there is quite simply nothing like them. But La Paz was also a very interesting setting and learning about the hard life of the miners of Potosi from the very entertaining ex-miner was an enjoyable if sobering experience.
Julia was excellent. She was great at organising us, always told us what to expect and had great knowledge of all the places and sights we visited and the history behind them.
In the highlands it is cold in June to August so take plenty of warm clothes in layers as it warms up during the day. Some of the hotels we stayed in didn't have great heating so bear that in mind as well. Be prepared for the long days but it is definitely worth it! A few people in my group left the tour in La Paz so they could have more time there, an option which in hindsight I wished I'd considered as the tour doesn't spend much time there.
Fantastic trip, saw such a range of wildlife. Really great to go to so many different locations on this trip. Great guide, comfortable and spacious vehicle and some very nice lodges and hotels. Would highly reccomend this trip.
So many to choose from. One highlight was seeing rare mountain zebra at the waterhole outside our room at Weltevrede Guest Farm. Another was seeing multiple humpback whales during the optional scenic flight. Overall though just the vast amount of animals we saw throughout the entire trip.
Shane Katjirua was fantastic. He was very organised, patient, helpful and funny. He was a mine of imformation. His driving was exceptional and he was able to spot wildlife whilst on game drives that we missed. He really made the holiday.
Do take advantage of the optional trips. Especially the optional game drive in Etosha National Park. We also did the Sossusvlei Scenic Flight by Eagle Eye Aviation, depending on group size the plane can be very small and hot, but it was definitely worth doing. Also highly reccomend the Ocean Adventures seal and dolphin trip from Swakopmund.
^ day cycling trip through Southern Albania.
Visiting the town of Gijorkaster. We didn't take the guided tour but wandered on our own.
Our group leader could have done a lot more. He was not always at the head of our cycling group and at one point I came out of a restaurant to find that the whole group had already left including the van. Also there was no maintenance of the bikes no checking of tyres quite unacceptable. The payment for dinners and drinks was very poorly organised. It should have been done after each meal which it was not. Given the temperatures we should have been leaving much earlier each morning he should have made this happen.
I would certainly have some local currency in my pocket to pay for meals etc. Also check which hotels you are staying at as they seem to love loud Ibiza style music not what you want when you've just ridden 60km in 35 C
A fascinating and varied tour through 3 interesting Baltic countries.
Visit to Curonian spit
Excellent. He was knowledgeable, approachable and created a strong group bond and identity.
If you are interested in culture, history and architecture, you will enjoy this trip.
Five days of challenging but thoroughly enjoyable walking through the wonderful Alpine surroundings. Mountain View’s at every turn and lovely alpine forests with enchanting bird song. We had a great group, good accommodation very close to Chamonix
Adrian was the perfect guide. He had good local knowledge and was professional, supportive and had a great sense of humour.
This is a great opportunity to see the best trails in the Mont Blanc area. Make sure you do some hill training as some of the ascents are challenging and involve walking uphill - climbing up to 800m in a couple of hours.
All the Chalets were amazing, although I only stayed in Chalet Bediere, I saw the others which all had their own unique selling points. The hikes were great with charming views of Chamonix and the mountains. It was a challenge on the warmer days but very rewarding!
My advice for travelers who are interested in seeing what the town has to offer aside from the hiking, is to research Chamonix the week you are travelling and see what else is happening. There is always something going on in high season so don't miss out and extend your stay accordingly. During my stay, the annual French "Fête de la Musique" was happening aswell as the annual film festival. I also extended my stay to see the passing of the Olympic Toch!
