Places
How this trip helps protect and conserve local landscapes and nature.
- By travelling in a small group we ‘tread lightly’ to minimise our impact on local resources and the environment.
- We work with our partners on the ground to proactively reduce waste; this includes eliminating all single-use plastic water bottles by providing refills for reusable bottles.
- The payment of entrance fees to natural reserves and archaeological sites generates income, which is used for upkeep and development of these important sites. We visit Saklikent National Park, where our entrance fees will contribute towards the upkeep and maintenance of the reserve.
- We rewild 1,075sqft (100sqm) per passenger to compensate for all trip and flight emissions.
- Read about our commitment to nature protection and restoration here, including our rewilding commitment for every customer who travels with us.
Planet
How we seek to keep the carbon footprint of this trip low.
- Accommodation and restaurants in the itinerary use locally sourced food which has not been transported long distances.
- Most activities are low impact and self-propelled, for example sea-kayaking, canyoning and mountain biking.
- Read about our climate action here, including our carbon reduction and compensation commitments.
Tips for sustainable travel on this trip
- Leave no trace: We do all we can to ensure we leave no rubbish in the wild and beautiful places we visit; we ask that you do the same. If there are no recycling facilities in-country, consider bringing recyclable materials home with you.
- Plastic waste reduction: Please bring a reusable water bottle on this trip, also consider avoiding single-use hotel toiletries, which generate a large amount of plastic waste.

Itinerary
Kas Kas
On arrival in Kas, you’ll make your way (either via a scheduled group transfer or independently) to your boutique hotel, the Kas Artemis Hotel. The outdoor pool beckons to swim off any post-flight grogginess. Have a sundowner and wind into holiday mode: the real adventure starts tomorrow.
You’ll be collected at 9.30am today; perhaps more of a lie-in than your average weekday. You’ll be driven by jeep to Kaputas Beach to see the turquoise waters that epitomise this part of Turkey. Then it’s on to a couple of traditional Greek villages where we’ll stop for a late breakfast.
Then, we head further inland to canyon country. On foot, we’ll pass through Gizlikent Gorge to find its incredible waterfall. Then explore further into Saklikent National Park to see the deep canyon carved between two mountains, before stopping for lunch in these spectacular surroundings.
A visit to Patara Beach follows, for another hit of that pure azure sea. There’s time for a swim before the day wraps up around 6pm and we return to the Kas Artemis Hotel.
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch
We head out around 8am to Ucagiz. This is where we’ll get a briefing before hitting the water in a sea kayak, bound for Kekova island, where a sunken city lies just beneath the surface. Lunch is in an enviable spot – the village of Simena, which is inaccessible by road. A hilltop castle overlooks it, and you’ll catch views of the whole bay.
Rest up this evening. You’ll need your energy for a challenging day tomorrow.
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch
There’s an adrenaline-charged day in store today, and you’ll need a head for heights too. We’re off to the mountains behind Kas, stopping at the Kibris Canyon. We’ll be provided with all the gear and spend the day canyoning, swimming, abseiling and plunging into the cold river water.
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch
After yesterday’s antics, the tempo is dialled down. Cold drink in hand and soaking up the sunshine, we’ll set sail from Kas Harbour to explore bays and coves around the islands. We’ll get a sense of the region’s ancient history as we meander around the rocky outcrops. Lunch on board is fresh and leisurely.
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch
Fuel up at breakfast, you’ll need the energy to turbocharge an exhilarating day in the mountains. We’ll spend the morning cycling trails that ascend through the cedar forest, with the majestic Kibris Gorge within sight. A homemade lunch is served in a village house before we descend on fast roads back to Kas. A guide and minibus are on hand to help any stragglers.
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch
Today is yours to spend as you like. Ramp things up with options to paraglide or scuba dive, visit the local market, or, if you’d rather rest before heading home, take a Turkish bath. There is also the option to visit the Greek island of Kastellorizo, known as Megisti to the locals or Meis in Turkey. This is the most easterly of the Dodecanese islands, and one of the most picturesque.
In the early evening, we gather in one of the most colourful restaurants in town for a farewell dinner.
Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner
The trip wraps up after a final breakfast at the hotel.
