Gorilla and Masai Mara depart sept 15th

Hi,
just wondering who else is booked on this trip. Am already getting excited and would love to hear from any body else going

Hey,

I will be coming on this trip - just trying to sort out some flights before I book it

Jen

I am booked on this trip too. Looking forward to the whole adventure and getting more excited every day as it draws closer.
Rob

have any of you been on this sort of trip before any advice on what we do and do not need to take, how much money to spend, Dollars or Sterling Lot to think of but yes sooooo excited

I am booked on this trip and coming alone from Vancouver, BC Canada. Wondering if malaria tablets are necessary as I get extremely dizzy from them. Also wondering if anyone is arriving 1 night early? I have to because of flight times.

trying again... traveling solo from Vancouver, BC Canada.

To all going have a fantastic time, we did last year. Try and go for the long trek to the Gorillas well worth it, we did and visited the Susa group 40+ . Would love to do the trip again and Often our guide was brilliant. Enjoy

Jan, I've not been on a trip quite like this before...not sure how much money to take as all meals are included. The trip notes have a pretty comprehensive packing list though, I'm starting there and hoping it all fits!

Traveler1, I've been told by my nurse that malaria tablets are a must, I'm just debating which type I go for. Perhaps there's a different type that you don't get such bad side effects from?

well less than three weeks and we will have embarked on our adventure, have done a trial pack and think I need to get a bit stricter with myself, I am getting so excited, Anybody fancy meeting at the airport before we board for our flight

Not long to go now! I think packing light is the way to go and I need to be realistic about what are 'essential' items. It would be good to meet up with you at the airport before we depart, in one of the restaurants / bars after check-in perhaps?

I probably should try and pack this weekend - everything is lying out on my spare bed at the moment! I'm usually pretty good at packing light, but this trip is really stumping me. I just don't know what I will/won't need. Plus I just found out that our hand luggage allowance is only 7kg :( So I'm going to have to try and pack my camera in my rucksack, between that and my sleeping bag, I'm not sure I have much room for anything else!! I also still need to get some money

Sounds like a plan to meet up beforehand - I'll be coming from work, so not sure what time I'll actually arrive though.

Can I suggest that we meet at the Bridge bar if anybody wants to about 1930-2000. I'll be easy to spot as will be wearing my hiking boots to try and create a bit more space in my luggage. Can I ask what is everybody else doing about Visas are we all getting them at the border crossings?

I will be getting the visas at the crossings, I get the impression that this is what most people on this trip do. I shall be copying your idea of wearing hiking boots to save room. Meeting at The Bridge sounds like a plan!

I'll be getting my visas at the border, my passport got stuck in the backlog earlier this year and I needed it to travel for work so I missed the small window I had to get visas in advance.

I'll be in my walking boots for most of the trip, so we'll all match :)

See you at the airport!

Jen
