Most Inspirational Moment

Drinking Cuban cocktails in the bars listening to the Cuban music and watching the Cuban dancing; walks around Havana, Cienfuegos and Trinidad; spending time on the beach in the Bay of Pigs; and of course, driving around Havana in a brightly coloured veteran US car.

The group leader had a great knowledge of the country, the people and their lives, and was invaluable in navigating our way around ensuring we were kept safe, secure and entertained.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Food choices are limited, especially if you are vegetarian; take two-flat pin socket adapters; do not expect much wifi; take USD or EUR cash; buy rum, cigars and handmade crafts; take some small items of daily living for the locals (soap, paracetamol, etc); be prepared to see some poverty; and the airport is freezing!

Excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and if something did go wrong you never knew. He was able to sort everything out seemlessly.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Arrive a day or so before the tour starts. Go the thermal baths in Banos especially early in the morning.

Too many...The tranquility of the ruins atop Lion Rock, the amazing bird life, the leopard at Yala and the sunset over the lake, swimming in the warm Indian Ocean, the hanging parrots and sunbird in the date palm outside my window, the thrill of white water rafting (a first for me). All unforgettable.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Lots, but everyone finds their own way. Try everything. Don't forget plenty of sun block and plenty of insect repellent. An umbrella is a useful item. Best place to buy tea is not at the plantation itself because of limited stock and relatively little choice, but in Galle on Rampart Street when you walk around the old fort. T-shirts at the botanical gardens shop are decent quality. Take binoculars, really worthwhile, and a bird book if interested. There are kids at the farm visit, so a colouring book or 2 as giveaways may be welcome.

Ahmed was an amazing guide! He was so kind and patient and knowledgeable in his explanations of the history of the lineage of the ancient rulers and meaning of the hieroglyphics. He has a wonderful sense of humor and felt more like a good friend welcoming us to his country rather than a hired tour guide.

The whole trip was amazing!, we had a great group and guide, that made the trip that much better! My fav day was - .Cycling Through Ebro Delta National Park (Day 4): The ride through the Ebro Delta National Park was so scenic, calm, and peaceful. It was such a serene vibe cycling through this park, the lagoons and rice fields!

Our group leader Miguel was absolutely amazing. His expertise, enthusiasm, and dedication elevated the entire experience and created a fantastic atmosphere throughout the trip!

Trip described as leisurely but walk around tea plantation exhausting. Also warning about leeches in the jungle and tea plantation and the need to take more than one insect repellent. Waterproof jacket needed.

There were quite a few. I really enjoyed the desert camp and would have loved a second night there. Travelling in the 4x4s was pretty exciting, viewing Oman's grand canyon which was spectacular, having lunch in an ancient village high in the mountains. Nizwa with its fort, Souq and animal auction was interesting. Highlights in Muscat were the Grand Mosque and the sunset cruise in a traditional dhow.

Qais was very enthusiastic and was happy to talk about the Omani culture. He worked really hard to make the trip an enjoyable one.

Advice for Potential Travellers

A very busy week with 1 night in each location, only 2 nights in Nizwa. We only saw one turtle at Ras Al Jinz in December which wasn't the main nesting season. There was a lot of waiting until our group went to the beach. It was very dark so watch your step! Make sure you pack some loose fitting, long sleeved clothes.

Varanasi. Like nothing I’ve experienced before …not to be missed. Simply amazing.

The best. He found us places to eat and snack and drink and sit …and knew every best view …and made the trip simply outstanding
