Dream come true! JUST GO!!!

WOW. What and absolutely epic trip this was! It really was the trip of a life time, so many amazing opportunities to get super close to all the wildlife. I picked Botswana and Zimbabwe for the fact they have the largest population of African elephants found anywhere, WOW I was not disappointed. Thousands of elephants everywhere I looked, it was an animal lover’s paradise! not only elephants but an abundance of birds, cheetahs, leopards, rhinos, giraffe, hippos galore. Impala, buffalo, wildebeest and so much more! The countries themselves were absolutely beautiful and so different in terrain. Some of the most genuine and nicest people I have ever met anywhere! The accommodation was spot on and the food was absolutely delicious.

Most Inspirational Moment

There wasn’t just one moment but SOOO many unbelievable moments. -Day one watching a pride of lions try and take down buffalo -Spotting the elusive leopard on a nighttime game drive -Watching a cheetah take down an impala and feed it to her cubs -Camping in the Okavango delta, what an experience this was! one of the last remaining wildernesses left on the planet! it was epic!! The helicopter ride over the delta was amazing!! Dancing around the camp fire listening to the local music. - Rhino spotting on food in Matopo NP. -Bumping into a grumpy elephant at night trumpeting at us! -Spotting a group of African wild dogs on the hunt -I must add dancing with the local tribes, this was brilliant!! -Whitewater rafting in the Zambezi!! This was epic! Honestly the list goes on.....

Brilliant!! Adonia was superb, he was so knowledgably about the local areas and wildlife. He always told us in so much detail what to expect in the coming days. He was so enthusiastic his passion really shined through. He was a genuinely lovely guy and nothing was too much trouble! Couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Sifiso the driver was also amazing, brilliant driving on such bumpy road. His knowledge of wildlife and the local areas was spot on too! Thanks guy without you this trip wouldn’t have been as good!!

Advice for Potential Travellers

JUST BOOK IT! BOOK IT NOW! Must pack your torch, pack loo roll for the delta, pack snacks for long drives and books. Must book the helicopter over the delta!! river cruise on the final night in the Zambezi with your new travel friends. White water rafting, if you are up for an adventure. Take a good camera, because wow you will take some epic pics!! and binoculars!

Highlights of the Dolomites

This was by far one of the best trips I have been on. Hiking the Dolomites is challenging, but the hikes chosen gave us spectacular views and I highly recommend this trip to anyone who enjoys a challenging hike. We had 19 hikers, 6 from the USA and 13 from the UK. EVERYONE got along. We all talked with different group members all day long.

Most Inspirational Moment

The spectacular views, being out in the fresh air and just taking in the panoramic views.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Jenny Smith was our group leader, and she was the quide I hiked with daily. She was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, let us know exactly what to expect each day and had a great sense of humor. She was patient, wanted us to have a wonderful hike and talked with everyone. She was very easy to talk to and she was enjoyable to spend the day with. She also made sure we knew what was available to us on our day off and how to get there. She is incredible fit and made sure everyone felt safe with the challenging parts of the hikes. When one of the hikers slipped, she was right there to help out.

Advice for Potential Travellers

You need to be in good shape. The views are simply amazing.

Amazing

This trip is suitable for all regardless of canoeing or camping experience. The proximity to the wildlife is far superior to any previous safari’s I have been on. The pace was relaxed, excellent comping equipment, great guide, good food and scenery/wildlife was amazing

Most Inspirational Moment

The sunrises and sunsets - beautiful

Thoughts on Group Leader

Put our safety and wellbeing first, but was always happy to laugh and joke with us :-)

Advice for Potential Travellers

Just enjoy it

The Moonstone Trek

The organisation was faultless and the trip was superb, and fully thought through to make it as rewarding as possible. The standard of the guide – Cesar Smith – was top class.

Most Inspirational Moment

The Moonstone Trek (before joining the Inca trail section).

Thoughts on Group Leader

Cesar Smith (‘Smithy’) went above and beyond in his efforts - for example when our train was delayed and would have meant a short visit to Manchu Picchu, he managed to get us on to an earlier train. He was relaxed and friendly and very happy to be around, but at the same time completely professional, sorting out every issue promptly and attending to every detail to make our trip go smoothly. He knew everything, was patient and so polite, and dealt with everyone’s needs, without being overbearing or officious. He is a lovely person, and a top class guide.

The Moonstone Trek

The trip organisation ticketing advice and most importantly our individual guide were exceptional good. The route was indeed challenging trekking in the high Andes up to 4,650metres altitude. Our guide Smithy was calm professional and very knowledgeable. The crew and pack animals made the trip possible. Food and water were provided in ample measure along with every camp. This trip along the Moonstone trail was fantastic with such awesome views of the Andes. A truly wonderful experience.

Most Inspirational Moment

The Mountains the people the Inca skills in stone building in extraordinary locations,

Thoughts on Group Leader

Smithy was a fantastic guide always helpful and able to keep a good pace even when some in the group were struggling. He was good company with a huge amount of local knowledge

The Moonstone Trek

Great itinerary and excellent guide

Most Inspirational Moment

Day 3 of Moonstone tree element and Trek up to Manchu Pickup Sun gate.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Retrieving data. Wait a few seconds and try to cut or copy again.

Porto to Lisbon ride.

The ride, accommodations, and dining were superb. Armando Nava is an excellent guide who provided many insights along the way. Beautiful ocean towns and ocean sights. There was a nice north to south tailwind for the whole ride; you would not want to do it in the other direction! The Level 2 designation is appropriate. Porto, Lisbon, and Nazare are fascinating towns (cities) . Highly recommend.

Most Inspirational Moment

The Big wave museum in Nazare

Thoughts on Group Leader

Armando Nava is excellent.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Don't expect to swim. The Atlantic is very cold.

Awe inspiring

You start this trip in Trogir, a 10 minute bus ride from Split airport, and no matter what time you arrive on the first day you are sure to recieve a warm welcome! The accommodation throughout the trip is excellent. Staying mainly in small family run hotels/ b&bs but a larger hotel chain in Lapad Bay in Dubrovnik. Vanja our tour leader was exceptional. She made she we were all clear on the itinerary and had us all organised for the transfers and group activities. There’s a great mix of organised fun, and time to explore or relax as desired. Everywhere you go in Croatia there seems to be another incredible view or piece of history . Throughly recommend this trip to anyone wanting to explore Croatia. My top tips: take cash, and quite a lot of it! No-where really takes card so we all had a dash to ATMs which charge around 5 euros a time. If you’re planning on walking up Montokuc ( which is optional) take sturdy walking shoes and poles will be helpful. Get the 3 day dubrovnik pass! Saves you a fortune in dubrovnik and it’ll save you a lot of time getting the bus ( included in the pass) between the hotel and the old town.

Most Inspirational Moment

Walling around the walls of Ston and Old town Dubrovnik, Lokrum Island, Korcula and Trogir Old towns at sunset

Thoughts on Group Leader

Literally the best! Cannot fault Vanja. She made us all feel safe and welcome and was very knowledgeable about the tour, croatia and all the locals. We love our Mama Duck!

Good Trip all round

First trip with Exodus Travel. All went pretty much as we expected anbd we had an overall enjoyable experience. Hotel due Torri – set up above Amalfi means you need to do a 40 minute trip down to Amalfi – to get to the various places visited by boat ( Minori – Positano – Capri ) Visits to Ravello, Pompeii, Herculaneum are all done by bus ( or minibus ). On our free day we grouped together and got a minibus to Sorrento – 8 people around 300 euros The Hotel was OK . All staff were pleasant and friendly Room, had Air con , a Safe, En Suite – and we had a nice Balcony. We would never normally opt for 3* but were pleasantly surprised overall. Breakfast was reasonable – selection of hot / cold / fruit yoghurt etc and a coffee machine Evening Meals – taken in a large room – split into one long table for each trip group. 3 or 4 groups most evenings No atmosphere in the dining room – all felt very impersonal but I guess it served its purpose. Long tables – 3 courses most evenings – albeit a bit repetitive ( lots of pasta ) The Pizza evening was an exception – with as much freshly made pizza as you could eat. Wine is around 3 euros per glass for house red – which we liked. Carafe around 6 Euros from memory. Pizza making and pasta making demos were enjoyed by most people. Drinks area outside by the pool – where the groups met each evening before dinner – Cocktails circa 7 euros each but were OK

Most Inspirational Moment

Capri was excellent - don't miss the Chairlift to Anacapri - amazing views from the top of the Island.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Overall Eduardo was a very knowledgeable Guide with a great - if dry - sense of humour. We both liked him and shared a lot of laughs with him. Not all in our group would agree - a few issues with people wanting to change plans left a bit of an atmosphere. One of our group left without telling him - part way around the Path of the Gods - which was not fair to Eduardo who has to account for all in the group - so we understood why he was unhappy.

Advice for Potential Travellers

This is as described a good way to see "The Highlights " of the Amalfi coast without excessive walking required. Plenty of time to walk around each of the places visited. We spoke to others who did the more strenuous walking trip - some found it too difficult and wished they had been on our trip - as they didnt get to see Capri and have as much free time to enjoy the places visited due to the extra walking involved.
