This was an excellent trip. Delivered everything it says in trip name. Visited fabulous locations, learnt interesting facts about each place, tried local food and wine. Magnificent.
So many to choose from - Learning about the contrada’s in Sienna - First vineyard walk and wine/ food tasting - the passion of the guide and his knowledge was great, only surpassed by the combination of his choice of ricotta (local farm produce) served with his olive oil, salt, pepper and his wine - sublime. Visit to Voltare. I could go on! The Spa trip, on the “down” day was brilliant, great place to relax.
Teresa, was everything you would want. A native - she could handle anything, dealt with issues well, was accommodating to my limitations. We had a relatively small group, 2 family groups, with a range of ages, but she managed to ensure we all enjoyed every day. Fabulous. On our “down” she arranged a spa day for us, where she took recommendations from local staff. It was brilliant.
I did more walking than I expected - we did between 10k and 15k steps on the guided tour days. Not a massive amount, but for some, with mobility issues, on the cobblestones, I found it tiring.
A great overall experience. Fantastic scenery, most cycling on quiet roads , off the beaten track. Really got to have an authentic experience. Exceptional hotel choices.. charming and sometimes quirky. Ricardo (guide) and Vitor (driver) were incredible… very supportive and couldn’t do enough to help. All restaurant choices were excellent. The cycling was straight forward… and there is a significant amount of off road cycling which I hadn’t done before but found to be very enjoyable and it has inspired me to do more.
Cycling across paddy fields in Portugal! All the fantastic coastal views with no-one else in sight!
Riccardo and Vitor were incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and passionate about their country. It was a pleasure to spend a week with them.
I highly recommend it. Be prepared to spend some time off road.. but you adapt easily and it’s very leisurely cycling
Whistle stop tour of Czechia, Slovakia, Austria and Hungary

He was excellent in every respect
Take shoes which will deal with uneven surfaces and cobbles.
A wonderful week of trekking around Mount Blanc from the lovely Chalet Chocolat.
It’s very difficult to single out one moment on such a diverse and action packed week, but achieving the summit on our first day was definitely a highlight that will linger long in my memory.; stunning surroundings and a great sense of achievement.
Adrian was everything anyone would hope for in a group leader, and more; a consummate professional, with bags of knowledge. His briefings were informative and comprehensive, and he delivered encouragement, inspiration, genuine care and lots of humour whilst out trekking. Thanks for the memories.
Chalet Choclat’s hosts, Tom and Sol, make a superb team, catering magnificently for a variety of non-standard dietary requirements. Any fellow coeliacs should be totally confident in their willingness and ability to cater for a gluten free diet. Our group also included vegetarian, vegan and sulphite-free needs, so no mean feat. Thank you both, very much appreciated.
Not to bash Exodus, but I thought the trip would be better.
Guide (Tim) was ok. He mostly was quiet and I would have liked more history, stories of region, facts, etc. while hiking. Also he left us on the free day and couldn’t even stay for dinner the last night- he seemed to be in a rush to get out of there.
We are not sure why, but he also didn’t follow the printed itinerary. Which meant we hiked way longer and higher each day. The printed material said 7 miles most days with 750-1585’ elevation gain yet we ended up hiking 10-12 miles per day with 2000-2500’ gain.
We were exhausted and one in our group didn’t even participate 3 out of 5 hiking days.
Lastly, we all thought the food on the trip would be better. Our chalet hosts (Claire and Liz) were nice but they are not chefs- they are Exodus employees. Since we were staying in Chamonix France we all desired French cuisine but instead had Greek chicken, pasta pesto, and burgers… which seemed odd.
Compared to other tour companies I thought Exodus was okay but underwhelming. The people on the tour were nice but we all felt similarly about the guide and food when chatting.
Advice: Remember Exodus is a budget priced company so you should expect a basic level of services— there really is no wow factor.
I’m undecided if I will give them another chance.
Seeing mountains
Ok not great

So much to see and senses were bombarded
There was so many but I liked Tortuguero - i felt my senses were bombarded. There was so many animal sounds, so much to look at with the sights and smells and then the feeling of it all. From being on the water looking at the birds and wildlife to feeling the humidity it was amazing.
Randall was oustanding. He was the ultimate professions and delivered his knowledge and insight very effectively. He shared information on the wildlife, flora and fauna as well as information on Costa Rica's social, historical and education systems. His answers were always articulate, well explained, patiently delivered and never too much effort. He was clearly liked and respected by hotel staff and locals wherever we went which was lovely to see. He made our trip truly memorable and nothing short of outstanding. (Oh and he solved my problem efficiently and effectively when I left my passport and other items in a hotel safe that we'd checked out of around 90 mins before!)
Moving on so regularly takes a bit of planning in terms of luggage and packing. Whilst my suitcase was big enough for the stuff I was taking (around 16kg inc case), a slightly bigger one would have been advantageous for packing up and moving on and made things a bit easier.
A superb cycling adventure in Puglia in hot and sunny weather in June 2024. Our leader Manni was excellent in every way making sure everyone had a wonderful trip and was kept safe at all times. Mostly quiet undulating back roads with 2 quite hilly days, we visited some spectacular towns in this lovely region – for me the highlights were Matera, Alberobello, Gallipoli and Otranto., staying in ‘Cave Room’ and ‘Trulli’ hotels, not forgetting a fantastic Masseria where the wine and olive oil were produced on site – with a beautiful bedroom and super swimming pool. But one thing was unforgettable, and that was the opportunity to swim several times in crystal clear Ionian and Adriatic seas, including a pre-breakfast 6.30am swim in Otranto. Thank you Manni for all your hard work making this a special trip
Alberobello
One of the best!
Enjoy yourself - swim whenever you get the chance - buy the local olive oil
Great trip with a great group and two local guides who did their upmost to make the trip interesting safe and enjoyable.
Getting to the top of Maglic!
Sebina and Fatima who was training were supportive and very helpful.
Give it a go. The area is stunning and there is a lot of history and past tragedy to learn about. Locals are friendly and food was exactly what I would want to eat for hiking. Good to sample local dishes and wine!
Great week walking in the environs of Yagodina, an isolated village in the Rodopi mountains. Super hotel, serving wonderful traditional food.
Excellent. A very Knowledgeable individual with extensive knowledge of the mountains and the flora and fauna. Keen to share his expertise.
