One of the most iconic destinations for winter sports, France is blessed with magnificent mountain ranges including the Alps and the Pyrenees. The winter season begins in early December and stretches through to early April, with temperatures from Christmas to early February ranging from +4°C to -10°C. For those who prefer warmer climes, March and April can reach an enjoyable +15°C, perfect for a lunchtime break and to enjoy a picnic in the sun.
