Unrest in Thailand

Tue, 05/04/2010 - 20:41

Hi there

We are flying into Bangkok on July 29th for AOC Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. We were wondering what may happen if unrest continues and flights can not go ahead due to none but essential travel. We haven't had any communication from Exodus since the initial booking about 27 weeks ago. Should we have been receiving some emails along the way regarding flights? Guaranteed travel? The date now unavailable (whatever that means)? Confusion over departure date (29th or 30th July)?

Advice welcome!

Hi Charlotte and Sam

Did you receive a reply to this? We are also going on the same trip but not until November.

No we didn't. We didn't get a reply to the 'live chat' email we sent either. Finally we spoke to some call centre who said recent trips had been cancelled but at the moment, ours isn't one of them. They'll know nearer the time. It's a bit frustrating, we've just had all our vaccines and were contemplating visas/whether to get them ebfore hand etc but what will be, will be, I suppose! We haven't received any contact from Exodus about the trip except initial booking/payment confirmations and demand for final balance.

Thanks. We assumed they would miss out the Bangkok bit and reroute straight to North Thailand if the unrest continues but we spent 3 days in Bangkok years ago and wouldn't be so dissappointed to miss it, though I was looking forward to the palace again as it is really good. However I've read your thread on the forum, the info from Exodus doesn't sound too forthcoming. I haven't done anything about innoculations yet but will take on board the bit about getting malaria tabs on line as I hadn't thought of that.

Would love to hear any tips you have after your return.
