Killy & Meru

Hi, am Jim and would like to get in contact with anyone on this trip.

My e-mail is [email protected]

Looking forward to this trip, doing a lot of prep over the summer

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your reply. You seem to be more prepared than me in the hiking side of things. I have done some hiking in Brecon Beacons, Macclesfield and part of the South Downs Way. Unfortunately my cousin - who I have been hiking with - is no longer available, so I am trying to find another side kick to go with. Due to time and ££ I am restricted to England and Wales for prep, and only weekends. I would like to get up Snowdon and Scaffel Fell before I go. Most of my prep though is gym work and walks to work in the morning (only 2.5hrs to work). If you guys go on any hikes on the weekends throughout England and Wales, mind if I tag along? hi

Loubee

Hello my name is Louise.  I am not going to be on your trip, but I wanted to send a message with some words of encouragement.  I completed Mount Kilimanjaro in 2005 to raise money for Tanzania's school children which our local community support.  I must say, at first it seemed a huge task ahead of me when I signed up.  But once I got into the swing of training it gave me a boost to think I could do it.  My experience is that yes you need to have fitness in order to get to the top.  However, I think the most important attribute is stamina and determination to keep going.  But guys, please do not ignore the signs of mountain sickness...If in doubt please give up and get off the mountain quickly as it may save your life.  They will drum that into your head.

I have compiled handy tips and hints and packing lists for some friends that have done the trip.  I am more than happy to email them to you.

The best of luck to you all.  And what a experience of a life time you will have.

Louise

Hi all

There is a lot of us 'Kili Trekers' on this site trying to contact others in they group. I've be in touch with most of you traveling to Kili in Aug, Sep and Oct. As there are a couple of us going to North wales to climb Snowdon on Sat 14 Aug, arriving the friday night and camping out. Sunday will look at Tryfan another lovely walk/climb. Therefore I would love to get as many Kili Trekers together to do some walking and talking. If you are insterested e-mail me on [email protected] I think it would be great to get everyone together and discuss 'Kili'

Hear from you Jim
