Hi Barbara,

Jenny from Liverpool here.  I'm also beginning to get excited.  Going this week to sort out malaria tablets and check my injections ore up to date.  Am travelling from Manchester to Amsterdam and then on to Quito.  Are you going through Heathrow?

Hi - yes I am going via Heathrow and Brighton! Leaving my car in Brighton as there is a family birthday the weekend we get back and I'm just hoping that the jet lag won't mean I fall asleep in the middle of the celebrations. I think I've sorted most things now so could leave tomorrow, shame it is another few weeks.

I'd be interested to hear about this once you are back and hear how much time you actually get to spend in the rainforest etc. I'm considering making it my next trip :)

We left Quito on the Friday am and arrived in Coca late morning.  The dock is only a few minutes drive from the air port and then onto the motorised canoe.  After about 2 hours travelling  down the Napo river we turned into the 'canal' and transferred to a paddle canoe.  This journey took about 2 hours but that was because we kept stopping to look at the wild life (mainly birds and monkeys).  We then came to the lagoon and so the lodges.  These were fantastic as was the organisation and food.  We had 2 busy days there but there was time to relax in our hammocks overlooking the lagoon listening to the birds, watching the turtles and the odd caimen.  Monday was an early start back to Quito.  I would definitely recommend this trip along side the Galapagos.
