Walking The Amalfi Coast

This is a brilliant holiday, and that's coming from someone used to independent travelling who was sceptical about going on a guided tour. The walks are stunning, full of breathtaking cliff top views, waterfalls and lemon groves, the towns and villages you visit en route are awash with history and fascinating sights, and there's still time to relax and swim in the sea. The hotel is also good with great food and very friendly staff, and their cookery demonstrations were really entertaining.

This was the first activity holiday I have ever been on. Our group consisted of ten female friends with an appointed guide for the week. The whole week went smoothly, we met each evening to discuss our next day's itinerary so we were told what we needed to take, which was very helpful. All walks were well organised and the guide was very informative and he organised stop offs at wonderful little coffee-shops/restaurants with some fantastic views. Hotel Le Due Torri where we stayed was family run, the food was lovely and freshly prepared (included pizza and cookery demonstrations on two separate nights). The staff were friendly and helpful.

The walking/hiking part of this trip was very good. The hotel was average to poor. The breakfasts were heavy on bread. There was one coffee machine for 50 people leading to long waits. There was NO hot water for tea in the evening. If you didn't want alcohol, you were out of luck. The lunches were very heavy on bread and no fruit, unless you took something from breakfast. My room had ONE electrical outlet. TV or charge phone/camera battery? Your pick. There was no method to pre-arrange optional trips or transportation.

Exodus Response

We would like to thank Steve for his feedback, although we are very sorry to learn of his disappointment with his stay at Hotel Due Torri. We have been using Hotel Due Torri for over 10 years and the feedback we have received from clients is normally very positive, so we were surprised to learn that Steve experienced issues with the breakfasts and his room. We have discussed these concerns with the management team at the hotel and they have explained that they are looking into implementing tea/coffee making facilities in each room later in the year, which will improve the overall service. Whilst tea and coffee are always available upon request from the staff, we would like to apologise for the particularly long waits that Steve experienced; we have passed this on to the staff to ensure that this will not occur again. We have started to use local leader for this trip as we believe they offer outstanding local knowledge and are able to add a lot of value to the trip. All our local leaders are highly qualified, but we regret that this leader’s English was not as fluent as expected; we will ensure that further training is given.

Walking Tour Amalfi Coast - Best Trip Ever.

This trip was amazing. The Guide was amazing. The Hotel 2Torri was amazing. We were amazed how well organised, informative and assisted we were. Our guide went well out of his way to ensure we had a great trip not only on the trail but in the evenings. No request was ignored or too hard for this guide and the staff at the Hotel. The sights and information provided were amazing. I highly recommend this tour to anyone.

A wonderful way of seeing highlights of the Amalfi and good balance of walking and other activities. Be prepared for lots of steps! Our guide was great, the group was fun and the hotel looked after us brilliantly. Not much time to 'chill out' so advise possibly extending trip for a few rest days if you want a proper holiday.

A brillant holiday. Amazing views. Some walks are harder than others for example. Good. Path of God's you really do need a head for heights and be prepared to doing some mini rock climbing. The accommodation was brillant. The owners are lovely the food was amazing. The great location. A nice quiet area instead of being in the hustle and bustle of almafi town.

Great trip! From our arrival in Bomerano, we were warmly greeted and our itinerary was set. The walks were marvelous, with clear expectations and careful attention to detail (breaks for coffee, gelato and limoncello were timely and much appreciated). The food and wine at the Due Torre were great, and we enjoyed our "night out" at a lovely restaurant in town (Le Corte Delghi Dei). We were lucky to have great weather for walking, but one really couldn't ask for a better vacation.
