Walking The Amalfi Coast

Walking a spectacular coastline in winter sun

4
The trip included a good mix of walking and sight-seeing on one of Europe's most spectacular coastlines, and as we were there over Christmas it enabled us to see something of how the Italian's celebrate. We were spoilt by having mainly sunny and mild weather. The family-run hotel, situated high up in a valley amongst the mountains, was excellent. The staff were most welcoming and helpful, and we all enjoyed being invited into the kitchen to marvel at the skills of the chef, especially in making pizza. The food was good and plentiful.

Walking The Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi coast over Christmas

4
Had a great trip to the Amalfi coast over Christmas - the scenery was amazing and the walks fantastic. Really amazing scenery and such a photogenic place. Hotel was good (although room for sharing a little small and not really cleaned every day). The walks were really great and a good pace and a little tough for some people who probably weren't at a suitable level of fitness. The hotel food was really excellent with a great Chef who produced different and plentiful food every day. Was fun watching him cook pizza and other dishes. the hotel family owned and all staff were so friendly and helpful. The only problem I had was getting home as the BA flight was full so I had to take Easyjet and they cancelled my flight and it took almost 2 days to get home - nonone really helped so it was a nightmare!

Walking the Amalfi Coast

This was my first time traveling for pleasure completely alone, and I didn't really know what to expect. I think I thought it would mostly be a nice break in between jobs, perhaps some time alone for self-reflection and contemplation in a stunningly beautiful place. It was all that but actually so much more for me. As a self-described "city slicker," I was pretty much a novice at this hiking thing, and the week was full of experiences that kept pushing me, and challenging me to grow. Each day felt special and offered something different. Pictures cannot do justice to what you need to see in person. In these beautiful coastal towns, when the sun melts into the horizon, and the dusky mountains hug the sky, you don't know where one ends and one begins. I went in November, which is the off season, and was anxious about how the rain/weather might impact the tour. But even on the day(s) that it rained, that only added to the atmosphere and sense of adventure. It was special seeing the Amalfi Coast at a time when there were no tourists.

Walking The Amalfi Coast

Stunning in so many ways

A short flight to an amazing part of the world. Italy is beautiful and has many different regions, the Amelfi Coast is without a doubt one of the best. Exodos have put together the most wonderful week enabling you to enjoy the very best of the area. It includes walks with breath taking views which, is what you expect but pulls it together with using local friendly hotels where you are more than welcome, local bars and family run businesses. I've never felt so welcome.
