This holiday's advertising was wrong. It was described as a moderate holiday where you did not need off road experience. This is wrong. While it is true for the last couple of days the second and third days required moderate to challenging technical skills and as a beginner with some gentle experience off-road I was well out of my depth. If I had a serious injury I would have probably have taken legal advice over your advertising to make you wake up over how you describe your holidays. There are many comments about how you have graded this holiday in your feedback you appear to be ignoring. This holiday is sub-contracted. If I go on a cheap holiday through a last minute contact I expect to be in a restaurant that does not understand English vegetarianism. Why did this not happen with you? I thought I was paying you to make sure I did not have that kind of experience. With Explore every place has always got it.
We are disappointed to hear that Mr Potter did not enjoy his trip. As we take all feedback seriously and value our clients opinion, we would like to make the following points regarding the issues raised in Mr Potter’s review.
Exodus works in partnership with trusted local companies to run many of our trips and we have found through experience that this works very well. Our local partners provide unparalleled first-hand knowledge and experience of the country in which they operate, and working with them to run our trips is also in keeping with our responsible tourism policy of ensuring that smaller local companies benefit from tourism. We are proud of this fact.
We are surprised to hear that the vegetarian meal options provided were a disappointment as in the past we have received rave reviews on the food from vegetarians travelling in the region.
Tom, a member of Exodus staff, recently accompanied this trip and confirmed that in his opinion, a moderate grading is appropriate for this itinerary. The average daily mileage is well within the guidelines for a moderate trip and he is confident that the cycling is appropriate for occasional cyclists who have a reasonable level of fitness.
We strive to ensure that our clients receive the highest level of quality and as such conduct regular reviews of our trips and accompanying sales literature to ensure that we provide a fair and accurate representation of itineraries.
This is a scenic mountain bike ride tackling some big ascents and exhilarating downhills, mainly under a hot sun. The route comprises forest roads and tracks over pine, cedar and juniper covered mountains for the main part, and is not technically challenging.
This was a fantastic holiday, the two guides (Ali and Yashir) were great fun and ensured we had a good time. We saw parts of Turkey you wouldn't normally visit. The hotel in Kas was really comfortable and I'd certainly like to go back at some point.
For me,, what a great trip! The guides made it fun, the group all got on, the food was great and the weather was hot! I was already a fan of Turkey but Kas was a fabulous place.
It's great to read that this trip is running well. Regarding the airport transfer, a refreshment stop is often made en route which makes the overall journey time longer than the approximate 2.5 to 3hrs it would otherwise take. Fortunately, with the imminent completion of a road project, the journey time to and from Kas is set to drop to 2 hours, meaning there will no longer be a need for a refreshment stop.
