If anyone is flying out of Heathrow on the 13th ... I'll be having a coffee before departure ... feel free to join me  :-)

Hi both, we are also looking forward to this trip - hope the borders are open! never mind coffee at Heathrow we'll be having dinner. Unbelievable that we will visit base camp - can't wait.

Is anybody else doing the Chitwan extension?  Kay and Chris

Just found out the borders are now reopened so we are definately going looking forward to meeting you all in Kathmandu and at heathrow if you are on the flight.

I have been told that at the moment we will not be able to visit base camp. The aurorities have changed the visa requirements to limit the number of people visiting. We would need a need a trekking visa. Exodus are hoping this will change.

:-(

assume we still get a chilly night at Rongbuk   :-)

Hope so will be really disappointed if we dont get there after all the uncertainty with the borders etc!!

spookyseb

Yes we still get to Rongbuk just not that last bit to actual basecamp.

Looks like a little toddle at 5,000 meters to get a bit closer? A walk in the park me thinks if we can get away with it looks like we need to take some hiking boots.

agentle stroll sounds good - whos offering to carry be back?  :-)

after driving down to LHR on saturday, parking up, checking in, shoes off and on at security, I will be found in terminal 4 departures Costa Coffee, bespeckled, ageing, skinny git, imbibing in a major caffeine intake prior to embarkation.

Looking forward to meeting you all in the coffee lounge next Saturday. I'm really excited now and a little bit nervous.

A gentle stoll maybe but you can carry your self back! the wife will be moaning about how far is it but as per usual she will be off into the distance going up hill. Both of us are rareing to go we cant wait to go now. We are on the train to Heathrow decided that it was no contest and stress free. See you next Saturday in Costa for the last supper. Dont think we will be drinking Yak Butter Tea!!

 Chris & Kay

Namaste & Tashi Delekh, I'm your tour leader Keshar from Nepal, If you have any question then please feel free to asked, And Please do not bring any guide book of Tibet which you are not allowed through an emigration to Tibet and Photos of Dalai Lama.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at Heathrow. I think yak butter tea should be tried if only to say yes I have done that.

Keshar good afternoon. I am really looking forward to this trip. I thought if we take out the picture of the Dalai Lama we could take guide books. Is that not so anymore?

buxtonguy

thanks Tour Leader Keshar - look forward to meeting

First had yak butter tea in Shimla (then Simla) on the hippy trail in 1971 ... but not since!  :-)

See you all soon

I will also be wearing a red jacket! Hoping the wetness goes April is suppose to be a dry month there. Although flying across the himalayas in a small chinese plane during a thunder storm would be interesting.
