Hello,

It would be great to hear from others booked on this trip!

Best wishes, Angela

Hi Angela,

Yes, I'm booked on this trip too. Looks like it will be a really interesting itinerary. I've been on a few Exodus trekking holidays before and I go walking most weekends at home. I live in the northwest of England so there's plenty of hilly terrain around here to get me ready for this trip. Where abouts are you based?

I'm booked on the group flights so will travel down to London the day before we depart. Are you on the group flights?

Hi Ross,

Yes I am booked on the group flight too, and plan to get the National Express from Gloucestershire early on the morning of our flight.

I've never been on an Exodus organized trip, but have friends who have and they always have spoken well about Exodus. I have been up in the Northwest a couple of times in the last month mountaineering, I'm trying to maintain a reasonable level of fitness for the trip.

I don't think it has quite hit me that I am going to Guatemala, though I think once we get into September the excitement will begin!

Hi Angela,

That will be an early start for you on the departure day from Gloucestershire.  My folks live quite close to Heathrow Airport so I'll stop by and see them the night before.

I was encouraged to book this trip because of the high customer review ratings this trip has had in the past and I'm sure our trip will be equally good.  Guatemala isn't the first place that people generally think of for a holiday and I used to think of Central America as the bit in between the USA and South America, but a few years ago, I went to Belize and was totally captivated by the place.  That trip involved a day trip over the border to Tikal in Guatemala so, technically, I've already been to this country, but obviously didn't do the place justice in a single day.  Most of my walking has been hills and mountains in the past and I haven't really climbed any volcanoes so this will be very different.

I have fancied Guatemala for a while, but as you have typed yourself it is not on everyones destination list. I'm blonde and blue eyed, and so the idea of lone travelling in a country where I wouldn't blend in was not a consideration. Exodus is a happy medium.

I was very fortunate some years ago to spend 3 months in Peru (that was travelling in an organised group, with a different company), I hope Guatemala is just as good. And I'm looking forward to the opportunity to practice my rusty Spanish speaking skills!

Oh, and it is my Birthday whilst we're out in Guatemala, so I hope you'll be happy to celebrate with me where ever we shall be on the day.

Hi,  I went on this trip in March of this year and it is absolutely amazing!  We had Pedro and Esteban as guides (and Miguelito) and it was fantastic!  Don't forget your swimming costumes for Lake Atitlan and enjoy the Gallo.  One of the best Exodus trips I have been on so hope you have as much fun as we did.  P.s. ask them what Valuk means....
