Battery charging en-route & baggage size!

I'm booked on this trip starting at Victoria Falls. Are any recent travellers able to advise:

1. How frequently it's possible to charge up camera batteries on this trip? The longest continuous period camping appears to be 9 days.

2. Whether the individual traveller lockers in the truck are likely to accommodate a 20Kg back pack (80 cm x 50 cm x 30 cm)?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks.

Hi Roger –

There is an inverter on the truck, so while it is moving, you will be able to charge batteries etc.  In addition, you will be able to charge at most campsites when the truck is plugged in to the power at the campsites themselves.  There are a limited number of plug sockets though, so charging does need to be taken in turn if you travel with a full group.

There are individual lockers under the seats in the truck, but these are designed for valuables and smaller items and won’t fit a 20 kg backpack. For the backpacks/bags, there is a luggage compartment underneath the truck; this is lockable but not individual, all the bags will be stored together.

Please let me know if you have any other questions, and have a great trip!

Take care,

Sarah

Hi Sahern - Many thanks for your helpful reply, which was rather better than I that received directly from my Exodus 'expert' to whom I had also asked this question! Best wishes, Roger
