Enjoy Iceland's best known sights, along with glacier walking and snowshoeing
Iceland has much to offer in winter. As its name suggests, ice carved the rock thrown up by the force of volcanos, fissures and tectonic plates. This trip combines the best known sights of Iceland’s ‘Golden Circle’ with a journey east, along the island’s south coast to access wonders such as the Glacial Lagoon at Jokulsarlon and a gentle walk on one of the vast glaciers. We complement these natural wonders with an insight into modern day Iceland at a geothermal plant and a glimpse of Iceland’s past with turf houses and fascinating folk museums brought to life by the enthusiastic staff. In a land of extremes, we must not forget that even the sky can put on a show, and if the Aurora do appear we will be ready!
