Try a host of different activities in glorious Turkish surroundings.
Iceland is a volcanic island which sits over the join in the European and North American plates. Its location ensures that it is rich in geothermal activity; hot springs are everywhere and in places spouting geysers regularly put on an impressive display when the pressure builds to the point where they gush several metres up into the air. The most famous of these is found at Geysir in south Iceland; indeed the word 'geyser' has been adopted by the rest of the world to describe this impressive natural phenomenon. It's hard to travel anywhere in Iceland without seeing the tell-tale plumes of steam rising into the air. This otherwise cold country has about 250 geothermal areas producing 800 hot springs with an average water temperature of around 75°C / 167°F.
