Can I drive to the start hotel and leave my car?
You can on this trip, as it starts and ends at the same hotel. Parking is to be paid locally at a hotel's reception. If you need an idea of costs, please contact Exodus for more information.

What if I want to take a day off cycling?
Then you will need to make your own way to the next hotel by public transport, or pay for a taxi. Please remember you will also have your bikes, which need to be safely transported as well. You can also phone the local taxi company (details in route notes) who transport your luggage, and see if they can give you a lift. Please note this may not always be possible.
What are the bikes in the Loire like?
All adult bikes have front bag and 2 rear panniers. One of the adult front bags will have either a map holder or plastic folder for your route notes and maps. There are no panniers supplied for the child bikes. We also supply 1 repair kit per 2 people which contains a pump, lock and sealant spray to fix the inner tube. Front and rear lights are supplied.
How is my luggage transferred between hotels?
Usually by a local representative or a taxi company. You will need to leave your luggage at the hotel reception between 08:00hrs and 10:00hrs on days of hotel change - the route notes you receive with your final documents will confirm the exact time. It must be marked with the luggage labels (provided by Exodus or at the start hotel), CLEARLY VISIBLE, showing your name and the total number of bags that you are having transferred.
Can you always guarantee a bike to hire locally?
In country bike hire should be arranged at the time of booking, and the cost will be added to your invoice. Please note that there are a limited number of bikes available locally. We always have to match a person's height to the bike frame size, and as there are limited amounts of each size, we cannot always guarantee availability of the correct frame. Therefore it is recommended you add the local bike hire as early as possible.
Can Exodus help with my travel to the start point?
Although we do not have a 'group flight' as we would normally do on our guided trips, we will do our best to provide as much information as possible on helping you get to the start point, whether that is by train, bus, aeroplane or car. Please consult the trip notes for more details or ask a sales consultant.
Is is possible to hire a GPS device locally?
On a small amount of our self-guided trips there are wearable GPS devices for hire locally - please consult the trip notes or speak to a sales consultant for more details. If there is no device to hire, the GPX routes may be available to download on your smart phone or portable device - more information on this will be sent before you depart.

How do I join the Departure Lounge (forum) in the Exodus Community?
To view the Forums, including the Departure Lounge, you do not need to be member of the Exodus Community, simply click on the Community link at the top of every page and read the posts in their respective sections by entering the Departure Lounge, or one of the other options in the list on the page.
To join in a discussion, if already a member, please sign in to your Exodus website account (not related to booking reservations) to contribute to the Forum. If you are not a member of the Exodus Community, you can register by clicking the 'Sign in' at the top of every webpage and select ‘Register’ within the drop down panel.
When viewing the Forum area of the website, as you scroll through the 'Rooms' which are set out by 'travel months' during the current year within the Departure Lounge. You can then select the 'month' of intended travel, then filter the list of trips that have already been created by fellow travellers to see if your trip is listed. If the trip you are travelling on is not in the list, you can start the process by clicking on the 'Post new forum topic' link above the list on the same page. If you do see your trip within the list, select it to view the 'discussion' by your fellow travellers and you can join in by completing the 'Post your comment' section below the discussion thread.
