Mountains & Villages of Corsica

Corsica Mountains

This trip exceeded my expectations. We were fortunate to have a wonderful guide who had an eye on everyone and their capabilities so that we all had a fabulous time. Our group was excellent and the village we stayed in was great. The hotel was rustic but in a lovely position - you don't go on a walking holiday to sit in your room!

Cycle Namibia

Cycling in Namibia

Namibia would not be my number ever travel destination as much of the country is ordinary and the distances between the highlights are too long. That said don't dismiss it. The two things that most fascinated me was the seeming harmony between all the races and tribes, compared with just over the border in South Africa and the maintenance of a significant German influence in both architecture (old and new) and language. And for the latter it is over a 100 years since it was a German colony.

Self - Guided Walking in Puglia and Matera

Bountiful mix of History, Culture & Wildlife

4
A busy holiday exploring lots of different towns and landscapes. Plenty of colour both plant wise and insect wise, ancient gnarly olive trees, deep ravines, calm and rough Adriatic. Complex cave houses, conical rooved buildings, hilltop towns and Roman remnants. We went in mid- June and had sun and thunderstorm's at the beginning of the week moving to very hot days at the end. On some days it would have been better to start the walks earlier but was restricted by the time of the transfers between accommodation. The walking routes were easy although on hard ground. Very easy to find places to buy food from and eat in the evenings, just need to remember shops close between 1 and 5 most places and we didn't need to reserve tables. All arrangements for transfers, tours & tastings worked smoothly and plenty of support if needed. Accommodation very good.

Walking in Albania

Walking and More in Albania

This trip offers a combination of (fairly serious) walking and culture, and as such might be slightly mis-named, in that the walking is concentrated at the start and the trip then becomes more of a mix - this is worth pointing out in case you are expecting heavy duty walking every day. It didn't bother me though, I loved the mix and exploring this fascinating country still struggling with its new freedom whilst also giving the old legs a bit of a stretch. There's a fair bit of travelling around, but nothing too serious, and I found the day trip into Kosovo provided an extra dimension.

The Zambezi Valley

Rowing the Lower Zambezi 10.06.16

5
We canoed down the Lower Zambezi river a party of 8 with two guides Cuthbert & Ahmed - what a fantastic experience watching Hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffalo, to name but a few of the animals we were able to see. Both Cuthbert & Ahmed had so much knowledge and experience and could answer all our questions about the animals and the area and knew how to keep us safe.

Kilimanjaro: Rongai Route & Safari

Unforgettable - Kilimanjaro (Rongai) and safari

5
A fantastic experience, 6 day trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, supported by the wonderful guides from the African Walking Company, followed by 3 safari parks. Definitely a bucket list trip. All of our group made it to the summit, which was fantastic.

Cuba: La Isla Grande

La Isla Grande

5
It's a great trip with lots of diversity & amazing places to enjoy around the island. Our guide Alex did a great job & our driver Yunior was excellent, always on time, drove carefully & we had confidence we would get to our destination safely. Lots of long coach days, but it is necessary so we could see all Cuba has to offer. Excellen itinerary.
