Fantastic trip that changes with each country

A great trip that differs in style in each country. Thailand you are on very quiet roads and complete long (80-90km) rides each day. Very relaxing and you can go at any pace. Staying in small towns with a few bus transfers to avoid the busy roads. Cambodia is mainly in the tourist areas and you cycle around Angkor wat and the surrounding area. This tended to be slower and with the group. Vietnam was through small villages and towns and you spend most your time waving at the locals. Great fun and loads to see and do.

It was an amazing experience which had many highlights from interacting with mountain gorilla to seeing the Masi Mara. The thrill of camping in a national park and the opportunity to get to understand the culture/people of East Africa. I have done many of these trips and the tour leader Often was exceptional as where the crew which made the trip even more special

Enjoyable cycling and great views

Overall this was a great holiday, with some wonderful views of a beautiful country. Some aspects of the trip were not quite as advertised, in particular the planned routes did not actually include a great deal of proper off-road cycling, although our guides went to extra effort to make up for this and include some additional off-road sections. Also, for the rest day we stayed in a small village with not a lot to do (didn't really matter to us as we wanted to do more cycling anyway, which the guides helpfully arranged for us), and without the advertised 'pool and wellness centre'. We also stayed in another very small village on the last Friday night; as Ljubljana was not far, it would have been nice to stay there instead so that we could have had some time to explore the capital (we knew this before we booked though). The days were not particularly strenuous compared to other trips we have been on, with the cycling usually finishing by early afternoon, but this is probably in keeping with the grading of the trip. The accommodation was excellent (a little too excellent, we would have been happy to stay in less luxurious hotels and pay a bit less!), and overall we had a great time.

Exodus Response

We’re glad to hear that Elizabeth enjoyed her holiday to Slovenia. This was a new trip for 2014 and as a result of Elizabeth's feedback and that of other clients over the season, we will be reviewing the routes on the trip, with plans to add more off road sections in 2015. Elizabeth’s comments regarding lunches have also been taken into consideration and we will be speaking to the guides to make sure they inform clients about buying packed lunches.

Pedalling Through Provence

This cycling trip took in beautiful countryside, pretty and interesting towns and villages and good food and wine but was let down by having only vehicle support and no leader cycling with the group.

Sierra Nevada & Granada

A lovely area with good scenery. The hotel is of a high standard run by a very friendly family. Good food. Great views from the room balconies. The walks are excellent with many fine views. Quite steep in places but at a leisurely pace.

Lovely Cappadocia

Cappadocia is beautiful and I'm really glad I chose to go on this trip. You get to see so many different landscapes within a relatively small distance and walking through it all is such a good experience. On most days we didn't see any other walkers in the areas we were exploring and the peace and quiet away from it all was fantastic.

Walking Picos de Europa

One of our best walking weeks ever. We were blessed with excellent weather and all the walks were able to be done as per the itinerary. Really enjoyed meeting all the other lovely people we shared the week with.
