Everest Base Camp

EVEREST BASE CAMP

What an amazing trip! The wild beauty of the landscape, the Sherpas villages, the stunning mountains and glaciers, the Sherpas Buddhist culture, the Nepalese people... Although Everest Base Camp was the highlight of the trip, it was disappointing as they were no one, no tents, nothing and the view of Everest wasn't very good. However the view from Kala Pattar was stunning!

An amazing introduction to a stunning continent. A real once-in-a-lifetime trip to somewhere that has to be experienced to be believed.

I can only endorse Sue's comments -we shared a room on this trip.  Mosquitoes are particularly fond of me so I suffered some bites. It was certainly a group that integrated well.  Our guide was attentive, efficient and knowledgeable.

Hilights! Every day was extraordinary!! The drama of a 2hr fog delay at Kathmandu domestic, followed by a rapid liftoff & arrival in sunshine at tiny Lukla via aa stunning display of the East Himalaya range.  Sharing the EBC track life of local rural villages, 2 & 4 footed travellers, some with bells, pretty riverside villages, swing bridges over an icy glacial melt river, teahouse lunches of veg noodle soup & lemon & ginger tea, in stunning locations, cheerful, welcoming lodge diningrooms & staff, bedrooms with beautiful mtn views.

This trip was a great adventure, combining the thrill of superb mountain scenery with the achievements of crossing the Cho La Pass and reaching Everest Base Camp. We gained a fascinating insight into the sherpa culture and lifestyle. At the same time it was a really tough trek!
