A wonderful trip that enables you to see the real Morocco as you cycle through the small villages and towns as well as through some stunning scenery with both lunar-landscapes as well as lush date-palm groves along the river. There are some reasonably strenuous climbs, but with the support vehicles following, it is open to all. Our trip had ages 24 to mid 50s, with an average age around 45 (other trips will bound to be different) so will be challenging for older age groups depending on fitness whilst moderate to challenging in places for the younger age group.
This holiday far exceeded our expectations! Our guide was excellent and made us feel safe and looked after at all times in addition to his in depth knowledge of both countries, religions, festivals and customs. We have seen amazing sights and the whole holiday has left us dizzy with all our fantastic experiences! I would highly recommend this trip!
Generally a well-structured tour, but the long train journeys are very tiring. We found the time taken for the trips to the Great Buddha and also to Mt Emei could have been better spent elsewhere. We would definitely recommend this trip, but it is NOT a holiday. The early starts are tiring but necessary if you want to get the most out of this trip. My husband and I are in our sixties and were by far the oldest in the group but I am proud to say we managed to keep up (most of the time!) with our younger companions.
If you are into mountain scenery and the natural environment then this is a truly wonderful trip made even more precious by the rich diversity of local dress and customs and the high standard of local accomodation available. Drives can be long but the scenery is so breathtaking that even long drives can be a pleasure. This is the best trip of its type that I have ever made. Thoroughly recommend.
An excellently balanced trip, with plenty of well organised visits to temples etc and also time for relaxation. The cruise on the Nile was a highlight on the trip, the boat was excellent, good food and a lovely pool area. The train rides were OK, a travelling experience though the food was not brilliant!
Fantastic scenery, a great local team but very basic lodges. Most days are about 8 hrs including generous stops. There are no particularly long or difficult days except the optional ascent of Tchergo Ri which, at almost 5000 mtrs, is quite a challenge in terms of acclimatisation on day 4.
