TRINS: THE AUSTRIAN TYROL

Austria in July is great for wild flowers, good weather without being too hot to walk, and stunning views of snow-topped mountains.

CYCLING THE DANUBE - VIENNA TO BUDAPEST

First of all I would say we had not been on bikes for 20 odd years but the cycling was still a lot tougher than expected when combined with very hot weather (fairly fit mid 30 - 40 year olds to put that in context).  Looking at the route map and title of the trip I had expected 40-50 percent directly along the Danube but you can't actually see the river for most of day 1.  Only the final day was what I expected really - cycling along and crossing a beautiful river.  The quality of the food especially in the smaller hotels way exceeded expectations.  It's also going to seem like extortion buying drinks back in the UK after seeing the prices on this trip!

GALAPAGOS WILDLIFE CRUISE

If you are reading this then the answer is YES! Yes you should go to the Galapagos islands, it is even more special and magical than you could ever imagine. For me it was a dream come true and the best experience of my life so far.  I would 100% recommend this trip and Exodus, so much so that I have already started saving to do it all over again!

An excellent holiday which I highly recommend. The scenery was stunning, the Hotel  was great accommodation, lovely rooms and tasty meals. The walking challenging at times but always worth the effort. It was also one of the best groups I have ever encountered on an Exodus holiday. Lots of laughs, and in spite of the mix of ages and abilities we all got on really well.

ESSENTIAL PERU

Everybody knows Peru for Machu Picchu, but there is so much more to enjoy on this trip.  The landscapes are very varied and on a grand scale, and the people very welcoming.  All in all a fantastic tour.

CORSICA: THE GR20

The GR20 is undoubtedly a strenuous and demanding trek.  The Exodus version aims to alleviate some of the rigour and hardship by avoiding the need to back-pack or stay in some of the highest mountain refuges where accommodation is likely to be in large dormitories, or tented areas, with limited washing and toilet facilities.

THE INCA TRAIL

Hiking the Inca Trail at the end of June was a very special experience. We had glorious sunny weather, no rain at all and the nights were not too cold. Our group was a great bunch of people. As one of a group of slow walkers I got great support from the group leader and assistant guide. It was a great privilige to hike this trail with an experienced company and an extremely competent group leader. Everything was well-planned and organised without spoiling anybody's fun.  (Finally, I hope the porters are paid really well because they work very hard.)
