A really good introduction to Tunisia. We arrived just a week after the Bardo Museum attack, but I never felt in danger, due in large part to the relaxed nature of our tour leader, and the care with which the population takes of it's tourists.

This trip is a great way to see Tunisia, a lot is packed in to 9 days, it was well organised, and having a great guide only enhanced the holiday.

A solid introduction to Tunisia. You get to see a lot of what the country has to offer - Roman ruins, the star wars sets, the rugged desert and fertile plains of the north. Tour would have warranted 4 or 5 stars had it not been for lax safety standards at one of the hotels - they didn't block my single room and gave it to three men who came in while I was sleeping! The company has not responded to my feedback as yet - would be very disappointing if not addressed.

Exodus Response

We were very sorry to learn about the incident that occurred at the Hotel National in Tunis and have already sent an apology letter to Ms Su Chen. We understand that regrettably the receptionist at the hotel made a mistake by inadvertently issuing three male clients with an electronic key card for the room that had already been allocated to this client. The receptionist has assured us that this was a case of human error and is genuinely sorry for any alarm caused by the mistake. We have worked with the Hotel National for several years and have never previously heard of this type of situation occurring before, but we have raised this matter seriously with the manager of the hotel and do believe this was a one off mistake which we trust will not occur again.

Great trip, great guide with a plethora of different experiences.  These varied from the Tunis medina to a night in the desert to a four wheel drive trip through the dunes of the hahara.

Overall I had a fantastic time and the trip provided a great way to get an overview of the country.  The Roman ruins at El Djem, Sbeitla and Dougga are breathtaking and the camel trek and camp is really fun.  Main dissapointment was the 'Star Wars' set.  No context as to what we were visiting and compared to the Trogladyte home we visited before which was amazing, the 'Star Wars' part was quite a let down.

Well-planned and very interesting with an excellent guide, spoilt only by a depressing, dismal hotel in Tunis - I would have paid more for a better hotel there.
