We would like to thank Vicky for her review. We have investigated the points that she has raised and we have responded to Vicky and her travel partner directly. We previously used a smaller vehicle for this trip, however clients indicated that they wanted more space so we are now using a larger vehicle which we feel offers more comfort. We have taken Vicky’s feedback on board and we are looking at ways of splitting groups into two for the cycling.
If you want to get a real taste for Vietnam, it's cities, countryside, culture and people, this is the trip for you! A full on experience, with many modes of transport travelling from North to South of the country, this trip did what it said on the tin and more!! Absolutely amazing, loved every minute!
Vietnam is a beautiful country. I would 100% recommend visiting it and I will definitely do so again myself. This trip provides a good opportunity to attempt to squeeze the highlights of the whole country into just a fortnight.
The activity levels however are a bit misleading. If you are thinking of booking this trip with the hope of some good trekking/kayaking/cycling etc., you will be massively underwhelmed with the overall activity levels - I would describe the trip as 'leisurely' and certainly not challenging in any way.
We are glad that Ryan had a good trip overall. We have looked into the points that he raises and have replied to him directly. Following his feedback, the trip manager is investigating ways to include extra optional activities, such as additional cycling sessions for clients who want an extra challenge.
Well when I decided to take this holiday I was thinking that I would love the country side the trekking and cycling part bit , but it was fantastic every second of the whole holiday. Did not want it to finish. Every day somthing different and beautifull.
A really jam packed itinery with lots of fantastic experiences but.... not as active as described in the trip notes. I felt a lot of time was spent on buses and in cities rather than hiking, cycling and kayaking along the "Trails of Vietnam"
Thank you for your review Anna. Please note that we have taken your comments on board and after discussing with our team in Vietnam are confident that the trip does adhere to the level of activity as promised in the Trip Notes. We are sorry that this was a disappointing aspect of your trip and thank you for your valued feedback.
A fast paced, fun, adventurous trip with like minded people. I would definitely recommend this trip to those that like to keep busy with activities. I would recommend keeping a journal though, otherwise it all may become a bit of a blur. Our guide Thom was excellent - helpful, friendly and was part of the group.
Truly amazing place and well thought out trip, which really does make it feel like you have seen so much of the country. Some truly stunning sights (Halong bay is the second wonder of the world). Hanoi is a complete culture shock and impressive to see how many people can fit onto one moped. Food is very good and for very little you can get some very impressive street food. Only slight complaint not as physical as the itinerary makes it sound.
This tour is not for the faint at heart. There is a lot of travelling and a lot of action so be prepared. Fascinating country with wonderful people, not least of all Giang the tour leader. Fasten your seatbelts!
