The temple complex at Angkor Wat is undeniably one of the world’s most spectacular archaeological sites and is a photographer’s paradise. This UNESCO World Heritage Site features over 100 stone temples built by the Khmer kings at various times during a 400-year period. One of the most impressive buildings is the Bayon at the centre of Angkor Thom. This impressive temple features 54 intricately carved gothic towers complete with enormous carved smiling faces. Much of the Angkor site has been restored but the Ta Prohm temple has deliberately been left with its jungle covering; you get a real sense of what the French explorers would have seen when they rediscovered the site in the 1870s. This truly remarkable site is definitely one for the ‘must see’ list of any traveller. Below are the Exodus holidays which go to Angkor Wat either as part of the itinerary or as an optional extension.
