Hi,

I believe the tour is full, who else is going? I am really excited, I have never done anything like this before. Ive started to check things off my bucket list; hopefully this will be a great first bucket list experience. Is anyone flying from Heathrow?

Yep same here, flying out 30th from Adelaide, staying at the Royal Singh a couple nights before joining the group.

Getting pretty pumped as the date draws closer. Curious to know whether everyone is bringing their own gear, buying in KTM or hiring...I'm pretty new to this, so keen to get the right gear without breaking the bank...

I'm flying out from Heathrow on the 1st and staying at the Royal Singh.

Damon,

If you are planning to go on more trips then it is definitely worthwhile buying some of your own kit. I had a fair amount of kit already however I have bought a decent sleeping bag and down jacket as I have other treks planned over the next couple of years.

People have mentioned that you can buy kit in KTM for almost 1/3 of the price, however you cannot always guarantee the quality. There are some decent deals for kit online, you just have to have a good look around. The most important things (by the look of the kit list) is a decent sleeping bag and a down jacket. If these items are something you are only going to use once I would suggest hiring them.

I hope I have been some help
