Here at Exodus we have an obvious passion for adventure travel, but within Exodus School Adventures we also have a passion for inspiring young people to get out there and experience more of what this amazing planet has to offer.
We believe that by schools offering the opportunity for overseas travel to their students they are better preparing them not only for the rest of their formal education but also for life afterwards. Our specialist schools consultants have seen firsthand how this benefits students, staff and the school itself and we will make it as simple as possible for you to set-up a School Adventure so that you too can reap these reward
Meet the School Adventure experts…
Lucy Wright, Senior Schools Consultant
For the past 11 years Lucy has been working with children and young adults in the outdoors. Her experience spans hockey coaching, working on summer camps where she taught teenagers a variety of activities such as raft-building and horse riding, to leading groups of students on expeditions throughout the world. She is passionate about adventure travel, having visited over 40 countries. She has climbed glaciers in New Zealand, rafted down the Zambezi in Zimbabwe and been elephant trekking in Thailand. She successfully combined her experience working with young people and her unquenchable thirst for travel by spending the last three years working for World Challenge.
”Through my work with young people I have seen first-hand the impact of adventure travel on their development and the positive effects that it has. I’ve witnessed anxious students grow in confidence and maturity after canoeing along the Zrmanja River in Croatia and start to realise their potential, standing above the clouds at the top of Pedra do Sino in Southern Brazil. The benefits of adventure travel cannot be underestimated!”
Our Product Team
Throughout my school and university years I was fascinated with travel, geography and the great outdoors. As soon as I'd saved up enough my bags were packed and plane ticket purchased! I returned home with a myriad of stories and experiences to a job teaching outdoor education in Cornwall.
It didn't last long and I was soon back overseas guiding for Exodus, clocking up over forty ascents of Kilimanjaro amongst other peaks.
At school I was an avid outdoor enthusiast, but my passion for adventure travel really started during my five years as an Exodus Tour Leader when I had the pleasure of leading numerous cycling, trekking and snowshoe trips around the globe. More recently I have put this experience to good use in my role as Product Manager for our Cycling and Winter Activities brochures. I hope you'll be able to join us on a school adventure this year!
My passion for travel began when I embarked on a trip that was to take me all round Asia, Africa and The Middle East; from the lunar like landscape of Ladakh to the beautiful temples of India and awe-inspiring magnificence of Petra. More recently I have combined this enthusiasm with managing the Family Brochure, a task that has meant I see potential for adventure, fun and learning in all continents. School groups too can now share these unique wonderful experiences that only travel can offer.
Throughout my school years I was lucky enough to go on some exciting trips, the most memorable being an African safari, staying in a remote mud hut and eating goat for dinner! This incredible trip was organised by a rather adventurous geography teacher who helped to kick start my passion for travel and the industry as a whole. Having then gone on to spend several summers working at children's multi-activity centres, I got to see first-hand the positive effect these school trips could have as the children experienced new destinations, activities and made lifelong friends.
