Adventure holidays to Sub-Saharan Africa

From the vast deserts of the Sahara and Kalahari to the cloud forests and volcanoes of the Great Rift Valley, Africa is still nature's continent. Without doubt the wildlife is the most varied and prolific to be found anywhere, but there's also the unique peoples - the Maasai, Kikuyu, Ndebele and Dogon to name but a few. All this, coupled with the unique light and atmosphere of Africa makes it an unforgettable place to visit. We realize that tourism can help preserve the wonderful diversity of wildlife that many travel to Africa to see. However, with increasing population pressures, tourism also has the ability of bringing much needed economic benefits to the rural communities.

What the experts say about our holidays to Sub-Saharan Africa

Elephant watching in the Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania'Photographs can be unkind to Africa. The widest lens in imagedom cannot do justice to the breadth of vision that so liberates the eye on this magical continent. The usual banal clutter that so obscures perspectives in Britain has not (yet) infiltrated the grassy plains that are within tickling distance of the Equator. So there is an awful lot of land, and dust, and a huge sky perforated by skeletal acacias and speckled with ghostly clouds, for your untrained eye to take in.'
Simon Calder, Independent, travelled to Kenya with Exodus in 2008
