After plenty of adventures and excitement across the world, it's been the Middle East and Central Asia that Carl has been drawn to the most. Following the trails blazed years ago by the likes of Thesiger, Burton and Burnes, he's covered most of this region, or at least those parts that don't require you to convert or enlist. Since working at Exodus, it's been the Polar regions that have caught his attention and expeditions to both the Arctic and the Antarctic in the space of 12 months have given him a privileged look at both ends of the Earth.

Travel has always fascinated Cat and has been a big part of her life from an early age. Too many experiences to mention (some good and some bad!) but highlights would have to be a microlight flight over Victoria Falls, drinking manioc with an Amazonian tribe in Ecuador and sea kayaking in the Kenai Fjords, Alaska. Alaska sums up what inspires Cat - vast open spaces, mountains, amazing wildlife and fresh air. Her best travel advice would be always take a towel and watch out for Greek taxi drivers!

Lucy’s experience in the Polar regions spans almost a decade; despite braving an especially brutal crossing of the Drake in 2002 she was keen to experience more, and her subsequent travels have given her an exceptional all-round knowledge of the Polar regions. Expeditions to Spitsbergen, Iceland and most recently Greenland have exposed her not only to the rich wildlife but also the culture of the region: dining on seal and musk ox with Inuit may not be to everyone's taste but for Lucy it’s part of the overall Polar experience. After studying travel and tourism, Kim moved to Dubai to help sell luxury properties on the famous Palm Jumeriah. From here she moved to Madrid, and spent a year teaching English to school children. Struggling to settle back in to normal life, she hopped on a plane, and enjoyed 6 months in India, China and Southeast Asia. Kim now looks after all our clients booked to travel to the Polar Regions, and is just back (July 2010) from 10 days spotting polar bears in Spitzbergen.

Having learnt everything about the polar trips whilst working at Customer Operations, Gabi decided to move to Sales so that she can sell these fantastic expeditions. After she returned from Spitsbergen, she became even more passionate about the Arctic. But there is so much more to see – Greenland, the Canadian Arctic, and Antarctica of course! Gabi is planning to buy a new camera and off she goes. Try to stop her!

Fresh out of university, Sarah discovered her passion for travel during two months spent on an overland safari in Africa. The continent was definitely her first great love and she has been there five times: from game drives in the Serengeti to climbing sand dunes at sunrise in Namibia, even on an overnight camel trek in Morocco. But it has been the sheer beauty, isolation and vastness of Antarctica which has since captured her heart from when she first travelled there in 2004, and she now rates the Polar Regions as her favourite places on earth.

At the tender age for 40(ish), Mike is already an Exodus old-timer. Joining Exodus in 1995, with 5 years as a tour leader where he specialised in the Himalayas and Latin America, Mike finally hung up his trekking boots after 2 years in the Pyrenees running trekking, biking and snowshoeing trips. Back in the office Mike developed our Winter Activities programme before moving into operations. As Operations Director, Mike's mission is now to 'make Health and Safety interesting' (good luck Mike) while maintaining Exodus' spirit of adventure!
