National Geographic Green Reader Offer

Experience the stunning scenery of the Arctic and Antarctica

No-one arrives in the Poles by accident. The Polar Regions are among the last wildernesses on earth and command a level of preparation, flexibility and respect not encountered elsewhere. They're harsh, merciless environments of savage, eye-watering beauty. If you've read the works of polar explorers like Shackleton, Mawson and Amundsen you'll be some way towards understanding the mesmerising effect of the black waters, blue ice and cerulean skies at the ends of the world.

Exodus, the UK market leader for small ship Polar expeditions, are delighted to offer National Geographic Green readers a special discount on the following Polar Expeditions listed below.

All our Polar Expeditions offer multiple Zodiac shore landings, and the company of expert guides and naturalists on board.

Antarctica, Falklands & South Georgia

Ocean NovaThe voyage begins by sailing east to the Falklands, with its large population of Rockhopper, Magellanic penguins and Black-browed albatross, before journeying to the ice-crowned mountains of South Georgia. Threading its way through magical fjords, the ship then arrives at the astonishing havens of Salisbury Plain and Gold Harbour, which boast a 100,000-plus population of King penguins and chicks on their beaches – one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on earth. The voyage continues to the South Orkney Islands, before encountering the enchanted icebergs, bays and channels of the Antarctic Peninsula.

Spitzbergen Explorer

Polar bear with CubSail to 80 degrees north, well beyond the Arctic Circle, around the island of Spitzbergen, where snow-draped mountains rise high above the pack ice. It’s the wildlife that makes this expedition so intoxicating: 200,000- strong colonies of little auk thronging the cliffs and shores, walrus wallowing in the shallows, whales, Arctic foxes and, of course, the mighty Polar bear – frequently seen hunting in its frosty backyard on ice floes. Twenty-four hour daylight makes for maximum enjoyment of the breathtaking glacial scenery, whether from the ship, by Zodiac craft or on foot.

Expedition Date: 13/08/10 - 23/08/10 - Package prices from £4,260* inc. International flights.

National Geographic Green Reader Offer: £200 discount
