Is there anything else you would like to add?
1. Client Route Notes. These appear to be a poor translation from French notes. They are casual, incomplete and in some case plain wrong. Following the instructions to leaving Cavaillon on Day 2 was a real struggle and the problems continued throughout the holiday. Comments like "turn right from the hotel" are fine if there is only one hotel - but in this case there were 3 in different parts of the town.
2. The Map. The route notes would not have been such an issue if you had provided a decent map - but a 1:100,000 was not nearly detailed enough. You should have provided 1:50000 or 1:25000. Your UK competitors provide better maps and also highlight the route to make it easier.
3. Quality of bikes. You say in the brochure they are Cannondale touring bikes and that is what we got. You also add an Evans vouchure going the impression that they provide them. In fact these are old bikes with twist grip gear changes supplied by the local bike shop. The rear tyre on my bike was so badly worn that at one point I had 2 punctures within 15 minutes. There was a hole in the tyre that I had to patch on the inside before I could continue without getting more punctures. I had to get the tyre replaced. What poor value.
4. Quality of Hotels. Some of the hotels were nice but on two occasions we had rooms where the shower/toilet was separated from the bedroom by a curtain. I don't expect quality rooms because French hotels are so varied - but I do expect proper on-suite facilities - i.e. a door to the bathroom.
I had the very strong impression that you have simply subcontracted the whole thing to a French company, translated their trip notes and added a margin. How very disappointing.
I would appreciate your response.
