Hi We are going on the Masai Mara, Gorillas trip in July.  Does anybody know do we need photos for visas if we opt to get them at the borders of the countries we will be visiting?  There seems to be a huge amount of confusion on this whole issue of Visas.  Any advice would be most welcome.  Thanks P

Please see the below FCO advice on the entry requirements for the countries visited on the Gorillas & Masai Mara tour.  Please note that entry requirements can change, and we do recommend you confirm these prior to your departure.
Kenya:
Visas
Adults who hold a British passport need a visa to enter Kenya.  Kenyan authorities state that you need sufficient space in your passport for your visa. If you arrive with a passport that is full you will be refused entry. We advise that you have two blank pages in your passport on arrival.
For a single entry business / holiday visa, the fee is currently $25, £20 or 20 Euros.
For a transit visa, the fee is currently $10, £10 or 10 Euros.
Uganda:

Visas

British nationals need a visa to enter Uganda.  This can be obtained from the Ugandan High Commission in London, or at the International airport.
For further information, please visit the Ugandan High Commission website at: www.ugandahighcommission.co.uk or contact them by email at: info@ugandahighcommission.co.uk.
You can also visit the Ugandan Ministry of Internal Affairs website for information at: www.mia.go.ug or email them at info@mia.go.ug.
If travelling by road, it is usually easier to get a visa from the Ugandan High Commission or Embassy before leaving the neighbouring country.
Rwanda:
Visas
British nationals do not need a visa to enter Rwanda for up to three months.  If you intend to travel to Rwanda more frequently or you are working there you should contact the Rwandan Immigration Department for a longer duration visa.  Further information is available from the Rwandan High Commission.

Hi! I went on this trip last year. We just bought our Kenya visa at the airport when we arrived. And then the Ugandan visa was obtained at the border....the quide organised eveybody getting the right money and forms, don't think we even got out the truck here. No photos were required for either. We didnt need a visa for Rwanda just a stamp, which we got at the border, just queued at a little hut for this. Think most of group did it this way, and I think it worked out cheaper than posting off to embasseys etc before travel.

This trip was amazing hope you enjoy! xx
