Hello :-)
Just looking to see if I can 'meet' any of my fellow travellers online before meeting in Tunis.

Hi, I have just booked on this trip to Tunisia. Looking forward to it, I went to Libya in 2007 and love exploring Roman ruins so this should be fun. Really need a break from work as well and some sunshine.

Hi Rachel,

Sorry, I've only just seen your reply. I'm really looking forward to the trip too & especially to escaping work for a week ;-) I hope we have a fun week, certainly we've got a good mix of things to see & do. I'm hoping it's going to be warm, I haven't really checked the weather conditions for Feb, still, its bound to be better than the UK!

Hi Laura

I'm coming too on 11 Feb. I've been to North Africa before and it can get cold! Rough Guide gives 7C for nights in Feb in Tunis, probably colder inland. Likely to be rain too. Not in the desert, presumably.

I'm looking forward to Dougga and Carthage, and how they compare to the Libyan stuff. And yes some sun would be nice.

Hi Richard, did you do the desert trip and/or the coast of Libya? I did the desert explorer and loved it and had planned to go back to see all the Roman sites along the coast. I still have some Libyan currency so will take it with me to Tunisia in case I can pass it on.

Over Christmas 2006. I did the desert trip too, so missed out the coastal cities. I missed out on Alexandria when I went to Egypt so I did wonder if there was any way to put together a coastal "grand tour".

Hi Richard & Rachel,
Thanks for the advice - I was already thinking it might be cold camping in the desert & I'd have to be prepared for rain. I'll be having a really good think about what to take next weekend.
See you soon :-)

Hi All

I'm just about to book, if I can get the time off work.  Looks amazingly interesting - can't wait.  The temperature at night looks to be about the same as it was this evening so I had better bring some warm clothes for the evening.  Looking forward to meeting you all - if I can get the time off.

Best regards Cx

The news last night showed pictures of snow in Algeria and mentioned unusual wintry weather across North Africa. Hadn't planned on packing for snow conditions so I hope the wind shifts from Siberia and starts to come up from the Sahara instead.

Oh dear, I hadn't thought about snow on holiday - I was getting concerned about the possibility of snow here disrupting the holiday getaway! Looks like the packing will have to include lots of layers!
Caro - did you book the last place? Its good to know there's lots booked on the holiday, looking forward to spending a great week with you all, whatever the temperature & weather conditions are!
