Hi Josh!  we've arranged our own flights to give us an extra day in Delhi at either end of the trip so will probably meet you in the Delhi hotel ... it's our second trip with Exodus - we did the Inca Trail, Titicaca and Nazca last year and really enjoyed it.  Look forward to meeting you   Pam and Bob

I am also on this trip. This is my first visit to India so am joining the Rajastan Tour on the 4th October and then joining this Tour. I have long wanted to see Kanchenjunga and this seems the perfect trip.

Hi there! I am also joining you on this tour. I'm coming from Australia and travelling with Intrepid in rajasthan just before so will join you at the hotel in Delhi (and slightly late as the Intrepid tour gets back to Delhi in the afternoon). Looking forward to it with slight trepidation for the camping part; may need guidance from the mor experienced! Great to see you all on here connecting.

If anybody else needs typhoid vaccination, and their GP doesn't have any (as happened to me), the 1st Contact Travel Clinic on New Oxford St, London seems to have plenty.  You have to pay for it (£30), whereas it's theoretically free on the NHS, but my GP practice can't get hold of any until 2014, and none of the pharmacies I tried has any either.  It seems a bona fide operation and I've had mine done there this morning ...

I have broken my collar bone on a cycling trip with Exodus through the Baltic States in July so am hoping for a full recovery by October. I have not been able to do the training that I would have liked to have done before this trip so fear that my fitness level as fallen. I hope that the trekking will not be too strenous as a result because it appears to be a superb trip from previous comments

I have been reading Lonely Planet and commment is made about the Sikkim permit which I have today queried with Exodus. Niraj recommended that you take two Passport photographs with you for the permit.

See you all on the 13th October

Good to read all your posts - looking forward to another Excellent exodus trip.  I did the Himalaya Peaks and Villages last October and then Kerala the year before.... i think that i like India!

Do i need anything else for the Sikkim permit except for photos?

Looking forward to meeting you in Delhi. I am going out on the 3rd October and doing the Highlights of Northern India Tour firstly.

I hope to have made a full recovery from the accident in Lithuania and am running again and taking six parties a day twice a week to the top of Bath Abbey Tour so am confident that my fitness level has returned.

I have longed wanted to see Kanchenjunga and have twice been in areas where Everest is visible but it has always been behind clouds. A friend's father was a member of the 1953 Everest Expedition and I am sure that I will see his name recorded in some of the places we will visit on this trip.

Josh, Pam, Bob, Fran, Barry, see you in Delhi in a few weeks. I leave on Saturday for the Intrepid tour I am doing beforehand through Rajasthan. Looking forward to meeting you all. Fran, unless you've paid a single supplement we shall probably be tent mates! Barry, you are the only person without a monosyllabic name, so, unless you object, you will probably end up with the Aussie version of Barry, which is Baz! That will give us a very Brady bunch line up of Baz, Bob, Fran and Pam, Jill and Josh! Glad to hear you are recovering from your cycling accident Barry. I cringed for you as a fellow cyclist. Trust me, you'll be fitter than me as I have been working too hard to get out and get fitter in preparation but my understanding is that it is an easer hill walk rather than mountain climbing. If anyone knows otherwse, tell me know so that i can at least mentally prepare. If anyone wants to contact me off the exodus site inbetween my email is rarajill@gmail.com cheers to you all. Jill.

Sorry Rarajill but under no circumstances must you call me BAZ. It brings back memories of a very difficult time in my life

No worries Barry. Barry is a much better name and one my parents would have given me if i was a boy, in honour of a Welsh rugby player. I had the audacity to be a girl. If by some remarkable chance I slip you can call me Jilly for 24 hrs! I similarly crime at that contraction of my name. Jill

I have had to withdraw from the trip to India. As you will note from previous postings, I had a cycling accident on the Cycling in the Baltics trip and all was healing well until this weekend and I am experiencing considerable pain and restricted movement in my arm. I have today spent twelve hours at the Hospital having two MRI scans and a CT scan and I have come to the conclusion that it would be foolish to travel. The first trip had two train journeys and from pictures you see of Indian trains, they are always crowded and then our trip required camping which would usually be fine for me but I would find it very uncomfortable in my present condition.

I am greatly disappointed as this was an area of India I had long wished to visit. Have a good time and if anyone would like to drop me an e-mail on their return then my e-mail address is barry66cooper@yahoo.co.uk
