Hi

Anyone else on this trip? I booked this particular week with the intention of doing the C grade walks, so just wondering what other people's plans are. I am flying to Venice on the 15th and will meet up with the group flight at the airport on the Saturday evening.

Hi stephen,

yep im going on this trip too! Am going to see how hot it is and how fit the group are but will probably do a mixture of moderate and challenging. Im going on the group flight so will see you in venice on the sat night. Have you done many exodus trips?

Hi Sue

I did the Mont Blanc Hotel Trek (trip code TWO) last year, which was the first trekking trip I have done and I really enjoyed it. That was grade B/C so I thought I would look at doing all C grade this time (am hoping to get some walks done in the Lake District before I go if the weather ever improves!) and if I survive that I plan to step it up for my next trek and maybe look at C/D. My ultimate aim is the Mont Blanc Ascent but that might be a pipedream.

Have you done any trips before?

See you in a couple of months.

This will be my 5th exodus walking trip. Ive done tuscany, trins, picos and chamonix. All moderate grades, 2 winter and 2 summer. Mont blanc would be a fantastic achievement. When i did snowshoeing in chamonix at the beginning of this year we got some great views of mont blanc and i remembered thinking what a great experience climbing that would be.

I phoned exodus today (to pay my balance - how come paying for it seems to come round so quick, ha ha ) Anyhow they told me theres 22 booked on our trip. 5 couples, the rest solo and a mix of male/female and aged 35-74. Makes for a very interesting week - really looking forward!

Hope you get to the lakes, funnily enough im going next week for a couple of nights. I live in durham which is only a couple of hours away so quite easy for me to visit.

I have been thinking of giving snowshoeing a go for something new to try so may look into that in the new year (I'd like to try a winter trek but I was also considering the Mt. Toubkal Climb in Winter - I did a mountaineering course in Scotland earlier this year so would like to put that into practice before I forget everything!).

I noticed the trip is now closed so assumed it was fully booked but wasn't expecting as many as 22 so there should be a good mix of people which will be good (I'm near the lower end of that age range).  I have just paid my balance as well (I delayed it as long as I could!!)

I live in Bolton so am only 1.5 - 2.5 hours away myself depending on which part I go to. Hope the weather is ok when you go.

Hello - had forgotten this forum existed until I got final joining instructions the other day, then took ages to find any relevant posts.  Travelling to Venice on the 16th (have you found anywhere to stay that doesn't cost the earth?) then meeting the group at the airport.

I've done a dozen or so Exodus trips over the years - pleased to know I'm not the oldest but 22 is more than I've ever known in a group.  Want to do 'C' grade but anxious it might be too fast.....

Hi Moira

I am staying in a hotel in Mestre which is about 6 miles from the centre. Cost when I booked it was 49 euros a night including breakfast which is much cheaper than staying in the centre especially as I have booked 3 nights (2 before the trek and 1 afterwards).  It is also only 3 miles from the airport.

Any of your trips you can recommend? I guess you must have enjoyed them to have done so many.

I don't think the grade C will necessarily be fast, just more strenuous and more steep ascents and descents probably. I guess I will find out soon enough!!

See you in a couple of weeks.
