Sierra Nevada & Granada

Thu, 01/10/2013 - 16:00

Hi - I'm really looking forward to this trip, I love Spain and have always wanted to go to this area. I particularly want to visit the Alhambra Palace, but haven't booked a ticket yet. Has anybody else already booked?

David,

No, they're not included! Reading the trip notes again, under "Optional Excursions" it gives recommended booking times, so I will try to book those.

Hi Juliette

In this case I'd advice you booking it as soon as possible. It is normally in great demand.

When you buy the ticket for a specified day, there are three different places where you can visit: The "Alacazaba" (militar fortress during muslim age), the "Generalife" (beautiful garden wherer moslem kings resided during Summer) and, at last, the "Palacios" (the Palace strictly speaking, the heart of the Alhambra Palace).

For the first and second places you can enter throughout the specified day (I think timetable is from 8:30 a.m to 19:00 p.m) but the "Palacios" must be visited during a settled half hour.

I recommend you booking it at dusk (in example 18:00). At this time, specially if it is a typical sunny day of the South of Spain, the walls of the Palace seem to revive five centuties later moslem left the Alhambra

I hope being useful for you

Hi Juliette, you have chosen a marvellous timetable to visit the Alhambra. Altough here in Spain it being a very rainy Spring I 'm sure the next month it will turn to  fabulous sunny days.

For every doubt about Granada you ( or everybody in this forum)  could have, please ask me. It will be a pleasure trying to help you.
