Hi Steve, Good to meet you too! I shall be travelling with 3 friends from Mauritius, and we get in at 11 a.m. Still cannot decide if we want to just do nothing on the first day or hit the city! My second trip to Egypt with Exodus so feel quite confident I know my way around! See you both soon!

Hi, I've just come back from the Nile Cruise trip, and I have to say it was one of the best holidays I have ever had. There were 20 of us in our group, and we all got on extremely well. The trip is really well organised, and you'll be surprised just how much you get to see in such a short space of time!

A few points for you though. Firstly, make sure you get a good night's sleep before you take the sleeper train as the journey can be a little noisy and bumpy. And be prepared for a few early starts (however, you do get the afternoons free on the ship, which gives you more than enough time to chill out and unwind!). Finally, be prepared for the street vendors, especially in Cairo and Luxor - they can be very persistent!

However, these are all minor points in comparison to the great time I'm sure you're going to have. The cruise ship is lovely, the hotels comfortable, and the trips to the various sights incredible. I recommend you do the sound and light show at Philae, and make sure you visit the market in Aswan (do it in the evening for the best effect). And do not miss sunset on the Nile!

Above all, just have a great time and enjoy the experience! I wish I were going back there with you, as I really did not want the holiday to end!!

Andy

Thanks for the great feedback. Am now far too excited to concentrate on work! Did you go to Abu Simbel - coach or air?

As for the persistent street venrors, I am debating wether to put on a jellaba and pretend to blend in... It might just work!

Thank you again.

I went to Abu Simbel Last time I was in Egypt I am really looking forward to seeing it again. I went by coach last time I was there. I found this a good way to go as it avoids all the hassle of checking in to airports and means you can have a good sleep on the coach to get well rested for the exploring ahead.

As for the Vendors i agree they can be very persistant but a frim shake of the head lets them know you are not interested. Also at the Major tourist attractions Like the pyramids you will get people trying to separate you from your group members and try to sell you things and take you on camel rides.

Hi Andy

May I ask you if you remember what time you finished the pyramids visit on the last day? I would really like to catch a train to Alexandria the same afternoon.

Thank you

Sarah
