Hi Belinda,

This is my first Exodus trip. Hopefully they are OK. I am coming from Melbourne, Australia. Presume that you are from UK? Do you know how many are signed up?

Regards.

Hello! I'm on this trip as well. Have travelled with Exodus before and they seem pretty good. Never on a cycling holiday though, so that'll be a new experience. I'm travelling from London on the group flight. I'm really looking forward to visiting Nepal! Karen

I am on this trip as well. I am from Holland. Last year I travelled with Exodus the South India cycling trip. I think there are alreay 12 starters because there are only 4 places left.

Ed

Yes I am travelling on the group flight from the UK. I believe there are 12 confirmed bookings so far hopefully they will fill the other 4 places before we go. I have never used Exodus before but really fancied Nepal so decided to take the plunge. Are you a keen cyclist or just along for the ride if you will excuse the pun!

Hi to Karen and Carla too looking forward to meeting you all nice to see we have the makings of a really  mixed group.

Hi Belinda, Karen & Carla,

Thanks for your messages.

I enjoy biking but do not own a road bike. I use a mountain bike or hybrid so I am not a "gun" cyclist. This Nepal ride sounds most appealing. I am covering two or three shorter rides of around 15 to 25 km and at least one longer one of around 60 km per week in order to be well prepared and to fully enjoy the tour.

I look forward to meeting you all in Khatmandu. Best wishes.

Hi everyone.

I and my wife Mary will be joing you in Kathmandu. We have travelled with exodus before  and  highly recommend them.

One comment I have is that sometimes it is not made clear how your bike is equipped or what is provided for you along the way..

On some trips the bikes were equiped with handlebar carriers,on other trips the bikes had paniers, and on still others there was nothing. You do need to carry sun tan lotion ,a camera, money, snacks  etc.

Our last trip with exodus was a 2 years ago .We went from Thailand to Vietnam.I bought I bought a waist belt at a market which I rigged up over the handlebars to carry these things. On that trip  we kept our extra clothing in the sag vehicle with which we which we would rendezvous every hour or two,so we didn't have to carry these bulky things along.

Our group also got together and formed a "kitty" which we we used to buy snacks ,soda, electrolytes etc .We would share these  when we made our pit stop at the sag vehicle. The sag vehicle always had water so you could fill up.I don't bother bringing a proper water bottle, altough Mary usually does.I find it just a convenient to refill a  store bought bottle of water.I usally had 2 on the bike.I don't think this trip will be as hot as the Thailand-Vietnam trip so one bottle is probably enough.

Camel packs are good if you have room in them to pack other stuff.

Just some thoughts.See you soon

Does anyone know if this trip is still on,given the Maoist uprisings which started today?

One of the  Maoist leaders said the purpose of this agitation is to smash the current government and that the army is on his side?By the way,we arriving in New Dehi on Tuesday Nov 3.

Thanks
