Contemplating joining the Via Ferrata trip on July 5th.
Anyone else thinking about this one?
Never done it before; I'm a walker and haven't done climbing. Think I've got a good enough head-for-heights but I guess the proof of the pudding...
If anyone is going I'd like to hear your previous experience (if any) and what other activities you get up to.
I'm 60, walk 20+ miles most weeks, and am a fair-weather cyclist (up to 80 miles a day on the road, not so far across-country), currently packing to do the "Tramantuna Trek" in Majorca. When I get back it will be serious cycle training for the (very hilly) annual round-the-Isle-of-Wight randonee.
Don't have much upper-body strength - would that be a problem in Via Ferrata and if so, what can I do to gain some extra oomph?
Any advice / comments / chat welcome!
