Cycling in Kerala

My wife (Ni, pronounced Nye) and myself (Tony) are really excited about this trip.  This will be our fourth Exodus cycling trip, after Monglolia, Indochina and Vietnam.  We're enjoying the second year of our first gap decade and don't know how we ever found time to work.  Anyone else going?  Any tips about cycling in India?

Hi Folks,

I'm booked on the India cycling trip departing 13th Nov and it's my first cycling holiday. For various reason's I've not managed to get out cycling as much as I'd have liked this year til now so I'm quite nervous about the pace expected on these trips. Can anyone advise ?

Thanks for the tips, Gail. Really useful to hear from someone who's actually done the same trip. Departing from UK in less than three weeks, so getting quite exciting now. How good were the hire bikes, particularly saddle comfort?

Hi Tony. We found the bikes were fine - well maintained and regularly replaced. We always take our own saddle and pedals with us - feels like riding your own bike then.
Hope you have a great time - we are off to Sri Lanka with same guide so understand teh excitement. The guides are lovely guides - they will really make it special

Hi folks, Even though we've done this trip to Kerala I'm quite envious of you all. It was a great trip. Hired bikes were good quality and well maintained - it might be worth taking your own saddle or a gel saddle cover. Food was wonderful - and very few tummy upsets. Advise you take small bottles of hand cleaning gel and use it before even thinking of eating any thing! Then either peel it, cook it or don't eat it. If your local guide / driver is Ashok then you'll be well looked after - he's a gem. Have a great time in a beautiful part of the world.
