Hi

Just wanted to know if anybody else is going on this trip, as no one seems to be posting anything.

Hi, I'm going on it and looking forward to it. Know a few people who have done this trip before and they highly recommend it.

Good to hear that you know of people who would highly recommend it.

I'll be on my own.

Have been on several Exodus cycling holidays and enjoyed them enormously. Didn't do a cycling holiday last year and really missed it.

Just had to pay the balance this week so the trip must be getting closer :-)

Hi kay

Glad to hear from someone else who is going i am counting the days down, but haven't been on anything like this before. Are you going with friends or family and was the Kerala trip cycling as well?

My wife Jane and I are on this one too.  Usually more walkers than cyclists, but looks to be a good way to see the country.  Just had two inoculations today, so the count down has started.

Sandy,

Interesting that you have malaria tablets.  The doctor today said I didn't need them as it is only malarial well North of Sigiriya.  Another website said malaria is 'very unlikely' (very helpful) and  yet another said that we need tablets, but not the good/expensive Malarone ones.  I think some sources take the whole country just to cover themselves.

Hi Neil

I was advised by my doctor to take Malaria tablets and got the expensive ones as they have less side effects and my daughter took them without any so feel it is worth taking the precaution. Rabies injection was the one i have done without as the side effects are  so bad i was told its very unlikely to get bitten so not worth the side effects. I don't understand how they can say that Malaria is restricted to the north when mosquito's fly, so would rather be safe than sorry. under six weeks left to go.

Hi Sandy

I will be  travelling on my own and  yes, Kerala was a cycling trip too and was brilliant.  I've also been on the Vietnam cycle trip and the Indochina one too!  I'm hooked on them - they have all been great fun and a really good way to discover the country.  Hopefully Sri Lanka will be just as good as the others.

Hi Sandy

Yep, I did the other trips on my own and they have all been fine.  Everyone mixes together and it all makes for a good holiday.

Looking forward to it - not long to go.

I was also advised this week that I didn't need malaria tablets for where we will be travelling, so very pleased with that. 1st time for years I haven't had to take them.

Hi there,

Glad to hear some fellow bike rider names for this journey.  Only two weeks to go now, and that will soon disappear.

We've been on these holidays a couple of times before, and found them brilliant, a great way to explore a country and meet the people, a great way to meet other cyclists and although sometimes a little sore it has always been great fun,

See you all soon,

Ian & Zoe

Hi .. another Zoe on the trip!

Only a few days to go and I am all of a sudden wishing I had done a bit more training - or lived more than a mile cycle from work! Somehow, I didnt quite seem to notice the bit in the trip notes that said 'hilly' or 'average 50miles' per day when I booked!! Hope there are a few other people who will be at the back with me! It's nice to hear that people have enjoyed cycle trips with exodus before - it will be a first for me. Does anyone know what the weather will be like?!

Hi Zoe

I am also wishing had managed to do more long cycle trips at home but life and the weather keep getting in the way, so nice to hear that there might be some of us not that used to long trips. Looking at the weather forecast, it seems to be short sharp showers for an hour in morning or afternoon then warm sunshine. In that heat it might be quite nice to have a shower, while riding, then dry off. Are you going on your own or with friends. This is my first time doing a cycling holiday as well.
