Hi,

I have booked on the trip leaving 10th Jan.  If anyone else is booked I would love to hear from you.  How much training do you intend to do or are you hoping to wing it?

little over 5 months to go!

Hi,

there are 5 of us from UK booked, ranging in abilities from expert cyclist to me the novice, always at the back. I will start in the gym in October to help, but cannot get excited about the gym....so dull.

Looking forward to the trip though.

Hadnt seen that. I am told by a guy that went some time ago that the food will be plain and you do need to pack some cereal bars for your own snacks. Not quite got to grips with what currency we need to take. GBP, US$ or euro ? Am told that unofficially everyone does accept $ but the blurb doesnt say that. Any thoughts .

i've been warned about a 10% tax imposed on dollars so was thinking any currency but!

i'll probably take a mixture of sterling/euros as a back up but mostly rely on atms to get the local currency when i'm there.

so, you say novice...does that mean this is your 1st cycling holiday?   it's certainly mine.  i've done the london to brighton a couple of times and had a sore ar*e afterwards...this isn't much less distance for 2 weeks solid so i'm slightly concerned as to how i will cope.

Could do with knowing how available ATM's are. I guess not too many of them.

This is my sixth bike holiday. Its a long story, but January is the ideal time for me to take hols as i work in Agriculture. I have done Vietnam, Burma, thailand and Laos and decided a change of scenery was required. I get very little cycling in between apart from odd few miles in the Summer. As an 18 stone athlete (ha Ha) i manage to do these distances but struggle on hills, so i just take my time and enjoy the scenery. Dont feel you have to keep up, i never do.  i am sure you will do fine.
