Cape Town to Johannesburg trip leaving 17th Sept

Sat, 03/26/2011 - 10:53

Hi we are booked onto this trip, 1st time on a camping trip. But have been on other exodus holidays that have all been very good - so looking forward to this one.

Anyone managed to get a visa for Mozambique without having to pay an extra £40 or so to a Visa company ?

We have now got our visa for Mozambique direct from the high commission in London, £40 each plus recorded delivery charges. Needed to get detials of border crossings and accomadation in Mozambique from Exodus to accompany the applications.

Hello Bernard and Heidi. We have also booked this trip and are really looking forward to it. Have not travelled with Exodus before but reading the reviews of this trip it sounds fantastic. Regarding your comments about the Mozambique visa - we were in London last week and had intended calling in to the high commission to drop in the applications but were told in a prior phone call (purely to check opening times) that they wouldn't deal with them until 2 months before departure. So we will wait and do it then (probably by post) so as not to enrich a "rip-off" visa agent

Hi nice to hear from someone else on the trip. We got our visa by post with no problems. Are you travelling on the South African Airways flight from Heathrow at about 9pm?
We live in Gloucester and will be getting a coach to Heathrow in plenty of time for the flight.
We have been on 4 Exodus trips before and all have been excellent. This trip is our 1st time camping !

My next job is to sort out the Mozambique visa and travel arrangements to Heathrow. It seems we are on the same flight and shall look forward to meeting you. We live just outside Towcester in Northants and local transport is such that the most practical and economical way for us to travel to the airport is by car - and then to leave it there. We have done this before, it just needs sorting out. Camping we have done before and can recommend it. We would like to visit Robben Island and note that this should be booked at least 4 weeks before travel. None of the reviews I have read mention this excursion but it is one we would not like to miss having travelled so far. I wonder how many others are going on this trip?

We have been looking at the trips and will probably go on the robben island trip. The trips seem very well priced, we also go on cruise holidays where the trips cost up to £100 each.

Got our final joining instructions, so only 3 weeks to go. Need to sort some money out and then do the packing !!
