Anyone on this trip to Peru?

Mon, 12/07/2009 - 13:54

Hiya, am about to book this trip - it looks brilliant and May is meant to be a great time to do the Inca trail - not too busy.  Would love to hear from anyone else doing it.

Hi Elaine,

Did you book on to this trip in the end? I have recently booked, and it's just turned 'guaranteed' so there must be a few more of us!

I saw last night it was now guaranteed, I think that usually means there are 6 booked on so that's great news.  I haven't booked as yet as have had a few health issues, but fingers crossed will be able to soon.  Am travelling to India with Exodus in Feb, that will be my second Exodus trip as did Kili last year.  Will be interesting to see if it's just as good.  But this Peru trip looks amazing so am sure to be booking soon (especially when I look outside and see the pouring rain...)

Have a great weekend.

Probably best not to delay if you want to get on this trip - I've just been 'playing' with the website booking system, and it seems as though there's only one place left!

Hope everything's working again soon. India should be great, though I haven't been there yet.

It's just showing 'guaranteed' on my screen!  How odd....

...for not being clear.  If you change the 'number of travellers' and update availability you can get an idea of how busy the trip is. The 15th seems to vanish for 2 or more travellers. Might not be completely accurate, but may be worth chatting to the office to check!

 Good luck whatever,

That could be because it is a 'singles' departure.  Normally on the dates and prices page it details number of spaces when there are only 4 left and counts down from there...

...you are probably correct !  Haven't encountered these 'Solo' trips before!

Hallo

Myself and partner are now booked onto this trip - apparently with 6 others at the moment - we know it says ideally for single travellers but dates suited us the best so hopefully the rest of the group won't mind!!! Don't think we'll be getting too romantic after a hard days trekking anyway!!! Hopefully the floods will have subsided by then and the railway line will be open again or we might be walking back to Cusco!!! Let me know if you decided to book and we can chat more. Bye for now

Just thought Id introduce myself as the trip gets closer!  My name is Kirtan and this is my third Exodus trip after doing Marakesh and the Sahara  and then A Taste of Cuba in 2009.  I wish Id caught the travel bug earlier, but its not too late.  Ive just got back from skiing but cant wait for this trip, have always wanted to see the Nazca Lines.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Originally from Cardiganshire, West Wales. Lived near Skipton, Gateway To The Dales, for the last thirty years. Long time hill walker. Following with Exodus -  Everest Base Camp 08, Kilimanjaro 09, Inca Trail May 15th, 2010. Prefer to fly from Manchester, so booked MAN/NEWARK/LIMA & return, on Continental Airlines, arriving 45 mins before the LHR flight. I'm the ancient mariner, always last, but struggle on. Reached Kala Pattar summit (18,448ft) but fell short on Kilimanjaro at 17,250ft much to my dismay. Just beginning to get into shape after a non walking winter. See you there.

How are you all?  Enjoying your bank hol weekend I hope! Im enjoying having a few days off work to catch a breather! Almost got everything I need for the trip, I think!  Ive steadily gotten back into my hiking with The Ramblers to prepare for the Inca Trail , but 10 mile walks in the Peaks are far removed from the Andes!  So what other trips have people been on/got planned?

Hello all! Just sorting the last minute bits n bobs for the trip.....left it a little late for a dash to the shops, but pretty much done. It does seem a bit of a squeeze getting all the gear into my bag though - given all the layers etc that we need. Oh dear. Anyway, I'll catch up with you all at the airport!

Fi,

Don't forget the 50ml bottle of Carex hand gel and little notebook & pen for diary !!!! See you all at Lima airport. I get there an hour before you from Manchester via Newark. Just cleaning my boots after a last nine mile training walk with steep climb in Calderdale. (Hebden Bridge & Todmorden area.)

I thought I was on top of the packing my bag, but still managed to stay up until 'stupid o clock' in the morning today!  Ive managed to pick up a few bargains for the trip that will come in handy!

Im flying from Heathrow tomorrow, so it would be nice to meet up beforehand if anyone is interested!?  Just had a look at the terminal 4 map, theres The Bridge Bar and Eating House at the Departures level, you may find me there at about 7ish tucking into an all English Breakfast!
